I went to Baha with my parents and partner as it looked like it had an exciting menu of food to choose from in the area, especially in terms of vegan options. Even despite the cost, we thought the quality of the food would make up for this. Unfortunately, the food does not live up to the excitement, cost nor description of their menu. My partner and I both ordered a Miso Tahini Cauliflower Steak which sounded amazing at first, but turned out to be extremely lackluster, bland and undercooked. We were served a giant 1/3rd cut portion of a cauliflower bulb which came with 3 grilled spring onions, very small roast carrots, watercress and barely a drizzle of sweet raisin based sauce. The cauliflower had almost no semblance of any miso or tahini flavours involved in the dish, other than its slight yellow discoloration. It seemed to be boiled and then grilled, yet was still undercooked throughout. There was so little sauce on the dish that it made it even harder to try and stomach the meal. A very lazy vegan alternative of a steak inspired dish. We also shared a side of Japanese ‘Junk’ French Fries, which were also disappointing. We were given a bowl of regular fries surrounded - not infused - by flakes of seaweed, sesame seeds and crispy fried onion. Another wonderful sounding spin on a side dish that is great in theory but was unfortunately poorly executed. My parents ordered nachos, calamari rings and oyster mushrooms for meal. In comparison, their experience was definitely better. All of these dishes tasted fine, the oyster mushrooms notably being the most flavorsome dish of all of our meals. The only redeeming factors of our experience were the waiting staff who were incredibly pleasant, as well as the comfortable seating arrangement and interesting interior decor of the bar/restaurant. Everything combined, I would not recommend coming here if you’re looking at having a worthwhile or exciting meal. The menu is very misleading and lackluster, on top of the fact that portions are both small and pricey. With the right improvements on their dishes, the food here could be miles better.y

Booked here as staying locally. We had 1 starter two main and a bottle of wine. Even though the food was very nice we did think a tad expensive. We never had anyone check to see if our food was nice or to see if we needed anything else. The restaurant was not busy. At £28 for a bottle of house wine it would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted it opening/ pouring but just got it left on our table. Tbh the staff didn’t seem jolly or interested. The walls were marked and could have done with a bit of fresh decoration. But couldn’t fault the food we had. Asked for the bill but after waiting a while we put our coats on and had to go to the bar as our bill never turned up. Our bill had a service charge added so check this as you don’t have to pay it! Overall enjoyed our food but won’t be returning.

This is by far the best bar in Bowness. I've been there twice now, first time we booked their karaoke booth which awesome. Staff were so friendly and great fun. My second visit was even better. The cocktails are unreal...especially the Pacific passion fruit one! The manager George did a dj set for three hours on Friday which was absolutely cracking! He played the best house music we've heard for a long time...requests were played almost immediately for us! Staff were all so canny (and easy on the eyes too). We returned the next day and they were once again very friendly despite us being smashed. 🙈🤣 Ten percent discount given which was above and beyond...Perhaps because we drank them dry the night before 🤣.

Wish I could give 0 stars!

I made a booking for my boyfriends birthday meal just us two a week or so in advance for 7pm. On the day I called at around 4.30/5pm and asked if it was possible to move the booking later, the lady on the phone said yes of course and said the last booking would be at 8.45pm. I decided to book for 8.30pm and the only reason we moved it later was because we were out sight seeing as we’re on a trip away for his birthday, and we wanted to see more. However, I double checked with the lady on the phone asking “so if we turn up at 8.30pm we will still get food right, the kitchen doesn’t close?” She was very reassuring and said yes of course! You will still be served food. I was like great that’s amazing I will move it please. We then run 10 mins late as my boyfriend misplaced his wallet and had a bit of a panic, so I called back and said how we were running 10 minutes late and double checked this was okay, we would still be served food and it was only to come 10 minutes late, she was yet again very nice and reassuring and said yes of course, thanks for letting us know that’s no problem, we will see you soon! I was thinking perfect, we don’t need to worry we have time to find the wallet and get there. We walked down about 20 minute walk, turn up to be greeted to the waiter looking very confused, I said my name, we’re here for our booking. He says wait here one second and ran upstairs, comes back down and speaks to the other man behind the bar, he then comes up to us like, our kitchens closed, we can’t serve you food. I was of course very shocked and confused and asked what do you mean? We had a booking? I literally spoke to you guys on the phone 30 mins ago and was never told this or told this a few hours before when I moved the booking and never told when I made sure!! We would get food!!! He literally just stared at us, no apology or anything, no concern that it was now 8.45pm, my boyfriends birthday, we were supposed to coming for a lovely meal and now what do we do?! He said the kitchen closed at 7.30pm?! Our last booking for food was 7.30pm, as if this was my fault and I should’ve known this? Firstly, why close your kitchen when you have a booking? Secondly, if you’re going to close your kitchen early, why tell me we can move the booking and still get food? THIRDLY, why don’t you CALL ME and tell me this, so we’re aware and can choose to not come later on or find somewhere else for food! Bare in mind, this is 8.45pm on a Sunday in Windemere, we soon realised this meant we weren’t going to be eating ANYWHERE. We still got no apology or anything, he didn’t care about us one bit and didn’t care that this was ruining my boyfriends birthday and we had no where else to go for food. We had to leave, with no other choice, walking around windemere in the dark, trying every place we see to get some food. Nowhere was serving, we were staying in an air BnB which didn’t have a kitchen or anything and no microwave so not like we could make anything. By this time it was 10.30pm and we got home, after having all this planned and getting all dressed up and nice, really excited to have a lovely meal. We had to drive 45 mins away to a service station so we could get some food. Not the nicest way to spend your birthday evening on your weekend trip away! I’m super annoyed, angry and upset by this, the lack of service or even care for customers is a joke!! Would not...

No idea how or why people give this place 5* reviews. I did read a few reviews before I booked this, but upon looking again since I went myself, I can see that others had much the same disappointing experience as me.

Went here on the 30.12.20, the day before lock down and it was obvious that the staff just couldn't be bothered. We were given a fan to wave and were told that the fan system is for us to use if we needed more drinks etc so that we didn't get up and go over to the bar. My boyfriend waved that fan for so long that he's developed carpol tunnel in his wrist lol. The staff were more interested in walking around singing Britney Spears - toxic at the top of their lungs, which is ironic since the food, the staff and the atmosphere in there was infact toxic. They spent more time dancing and chatting with eachother than coming to take our orders or be of any service at all. We waited 20-30 minutes for someone to take our order and then we waited an hour for our food, which was a long time considering there was only 6 other customers in the restaurant at the time.

Avoid the nachos if you're considering them because they're just out of a packet from Tesco with a falvourless, yet overly spicy, avocado dip in the middle. It was impressive just how flavourless and over priced it actually was. I also had an upset stomach for 2 days after eating here.

Just when you're thinking surely it can't get any worse than that, can it? I assure you it can and it does.

I had to pay a £10 deposit to secure the table which was supposed to come off the bill at the end, which obviously didn't. I basically paid a deposit that I never got back for my boyfriend to go home with a wrist injury, for me to have an upset stomach for days, for my purse to be £80 lighter and for Britney Spears toxic to be stuck in my head all night. If you haven't got the gist of the story yet, just don't bother going, unless of course you enjoy being ripped off and...
