A great restaurant which we can recommend for tapas. The tapas menu was varied and interesting with the choice including meat, vegetable and fish options. Each and every choice we made was delicious with generous portions. Presentation was great and the food all served hot. We found the pricing to be very reasonable. Asparagus with pesto - fresh and tasty; chilli chicken bursting with flavour and fresh, perfectly cooked King prawns in the fettuccine. We were so inspired by the flavours that we decided to have dessert as an extra. The chocolate brownie was served in a little cast iron and although the serve appeared quite small it was certainly all we could manage as it was rich with a crunchy crust and topped with ice cream. We were all very happy chappies! Our waitress, Dawn, was lovely, warm and accommodating. She was the solo wait staff and did her very best to keep her customers served promptly and thus happy - goal achieved! Thanks Dawn. When next in the vicinity we will certainly not hesitate to return to...
Read moreWent there for a Sunday roast last weekend expecting a fabulous Sunday roast how wrong was we! We turned wasn't that busy sat down to be given a new menu they had for Sundays when I asked the waitress she said they had changed the menu that weekend with a new head chef also the prices had gone up a lot before the change you could get a roast and a desert for about 25 pounds now a trio roast on its own £27 pounds the portions were small the meat was dry and the presentation of the dinner was poor looked like it had been thrown on the plate gone of the cauliflower cheese and all the sides it's on one plate that's it. I certainly wouldn't rush back to this place again and as for it being Wirral number one for roasts dinner forget it which is a real shame as this place was tops for Sunday roasts couldn't fault it when I told the waitress what I thought she said it's trail and error which is poor when your still expecting your customers to pay top money for there food with that attitude you won't have many...
Read moreYet another fantastic Sunday roast for me and my mum (her first time eating a roast here)
Starting with the amazing cheddar croquets which were delicious.
Mains - lamb roast dinner. Exceptional. Tender, melt in your mouth lamb, with the perfect amount of sides, including carrots, red cabbage, green beans, roasties, and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower. Topped with flavoursome gravy and mint sauce - no wonder 21a has been awarded best roast in the Wirral. My mother lost most of her taste bud's a few years ago and it's rare she can taste the things she is eating. Well she could taste every single flavour and combination on her plate tonight and we walk away very happy customers!
