Arthurs Wine Bar & Eatery Hoylake — Restaurant in Wirral

Firstly I'd like to say the food I had was spectacular and my servers where attentive and amazing and if I hadn't seen what I'd seen I would definitely been back. I like to eat in peace and for some reason the manger kept coming up and asking me questions and it felt like he was pushing me to buy more, I didn't want wine but he kept asking me about it. Then I noticed how this grown man spoke to his waitstaff I have never been so appalled! Rude doesn't even start to cover it! If my daughter was working there I would have lost my mind! The table next to me and myself started talking about his attitude towards the staff and they told me that they had been in the day before when a young lad had walked out in tears whilst on shift. 1 young girl was reduced to tears due to how this man spoke to her! The table next to me even asked one girl 'Does he always speak to you guys like this?' the young girl just smiled and said that they were just very busy and stressed. The place hasn't even been open a week and this man is screaming at his staff, WHAT A JOKE! I will not be back as I don't want to support a company that thinks this behaviour is okay! A late review from the weekend, me and my partner stopped at Arthur’s as I was looking for good roast dinner options as we are new to the area. First impressions when coming was a nice family friendly atmosphere and smiley waiters! Which is always a good sign, I got a beautiful wine which was recommended to me and was perfect choice!

Roast dinner was really good, we chose the vegetarian option which was a beetroot wellington compliments to the chef as this was super tasty, I would of appreciated more potato’s but that’s just me being greedy 🫠

Everything was great, our food took slightly longer than normal but nothing of concern and the man who recommended the wine came over and offered us a drink for the inconvenience which I thought was so lovely and noticed so I just want to say extra thank you to him for his amazing customer service, a credit to Arthur’s he was super nice and made our first experience better!

Went for dinner for my birthday and after ordering drinks and food for 5. I was told there were no steak and no prawns left. Ended up having hamburguers and chicken pizza. The hamburguers were overcooked and the pizza had no padron peppers with only 4 slices of tasteless cold chicken. Only tasted of tomato and the base was soggy. The Mediterranean board was meant to have serrano ham and sourdough with the hummus but came instead with chorizo and no sourdough. The patatas bravas were soggy and cold as were the calamari. Had to ask for it to be reheated. The best things were the cocktails and the chicken bites. Good atmosphere with the live band. Will not be going back. Very overpriced, poor quality and tasteless food. Table was dirty and staff didn’t clear drinks glasses. There are better priced and quality options...
