Molly’s Chambers — Where Rock Meets Roast in Birkenhead
If Halepi is a timeless embrace, Molly’s Chambers is a riotous hug with a guitar solo. Nestled on Bridge Street in Birkenhead, this bar-kitchen hybrid is less about quiet dining and more about full-throttle atmosphere. Think live music, Spanish-style rotisserie chicken, and a crowd that knows how to lean into a Friday night.
Vibe & Venue The space is part cellar bar, part festival courtyard, with a small stage that punches above its weight. Tribute bands, rock covers, and funk sets keep the energy high, while the décor leans industrial with a splash of neon. It’s the kind of place where you might arrive for a burrito and stay for the bassline.
Food & Drink The menu is hearty and unpretentious:
Burgers: stacked, juicy, and unapologetically messy
Rotisserie chicken: smoky, tender, and served with flair
Burritos & pub classics: comfort food with a kick
Beer selection: surprisingly international—German brews, local ales, and a rum list that invites exploration
Prices are fair, portions generous, and the all-day breakfast is a local favourite for those nursing the aftermath of a...
Read moreGood night overall but I had to manage a couple of big issues:
Security Door Supervisor (bouncer) very rudely and unprofessionally had an issue where I was standing....in a bar with no seats left and I was not in anyones way or blocking the bar. He continued to stare at me throughout the night. I felt stereotyped and profiled and uncomfortable.
Bar staff were great, once you engaged wirh them and asked them how their night was going ...other wise, clear look of "I hate my job and don't want to be here" face. I did get a smile or two off them eventually.
Outside bar area had no ice and didn't replace the ice for the rest of the night. Not a huge drinks selection outside too....or at least didn't have what I would of liked.
I only ordered some fries but fresh and crunchy but did have to wait 10 mins as nothing prepared.
I will be returning and would love to change this review to 5...
Read moreWent to Molly's chambers to try the food and I can't say I was disappointed. It's a stone's throw from Hamilton Square, right by the tram museum.
The food was excellent and even better for an office lunch break; the service was amazingly fast. Definitely not going to spend your whole break waiting for your lunch to be served here.
I had an all day breakfast which was great quality, the meat tasted like you would expect from a butcher's not like the cheap supermarket stuff you often get in cafes.
My wife had a jerk chicken curry which she assured me was absolutely delicious!
The prices were reasonable, the portions were great and the ambiance was amazing.
An enjoyable place...
