No1 masala indian restaurant & takeaway — Restaurant in Wirral

I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I had high expectations but both the food and service was a let down.

After ordering online and being given a collection time (45 mins), I arrived to pick-up and had to wait another 30 minutes before the food was ready - I honestly don't think the restaurant had even started cooking the food until I turned up to collect.

I understand that these establishments can be busy at peak times, but why give a collection time of 45 minutes if there was no realistic way this could be achieved? I noted that 5 deliveries left the restaurant in the time I was waiting.

The next disappointment came when we unpacked the food. The average sized containers were only 2/3 full which seemed an awfully stingy portion size given the price. The naan bread was dried and lacked any filling, & the fried chips were clearly reheats - perhaps these were both ready when we arrived for collection but sat in the bag for 30 mins? Who knows. The curries were quite bland and flavourless - we got 3 very different type of curries but they all actually tasted quite similar.

Thought I'd try somewhere new and it backfired. Won't be visiting...

We ordered at 5pm on a Saturday night and was given a delivery time of 45 mins, 2.5 hrs later the food was finally delivered, we had contacted the takeaway at least 3 times to find out where our order was but was informed that it was on its way. We was told that some extra food had been but in our order as a gesture of goodwill, due to the delay in delivery. When it did arrive the poppadoms was in small pieces and the curry and side dish was only half portions and all the food was luke warm. We contacted the takeaway yet again and sent pictures of the food that had arrived. We was assured that a manager would call us by the Sunday but no one called. I have been intouch a futher 2 times but as of yet im still waiting for the manager to call. We have always really enjoyed the food from here but unfortunately the delivery service has always been bad. We arrived early to this restaurant/takeaway, myself, son & 4 children who love Indian food. We had to wait awhile for someone to take our order, we ordered poppadoms & dips, 6 starters, 4 main meals with rice's, chips & nann breads. We had to wait over an hour for our starters to come, we were ready to leave until they said our starters were coming out. The takeaway side was busy with deliveries going out & people coming in for their orders. Eventually our main meals came, myself & children had gone past it. The food was hot, we did ask for a madras sauce but it wasn't madras hot. The card machine still isn't working and you will need to pay by cash. This was the 2nd time we had been to this restaurant and will not be returning. Customers eating in should be served more quickly & tables cleared away. It doesn't look good walking in to a restaurant when the tables haven't been cleaned after someone else had ate a meal. Stick to being a takeaway or hire more staff to serve...
