£30 for the tiniest jacket potato I think I’ve ever seen, 3, yes only 3 cod goujons and a tiny portion of chips. Plus a couple of drinks. An absolute rip off. The customer service or lack of it was terrible. Our table was only cleared as we sat down. And they didn’t even wipe it down. If we had seen a soul in the place, I probably would have asked them if they could please wipe it down for us. Why should I even have to ask? Surely cleaning of tables is a minimum cleaning requirements! You had to go and find someone yourself, anytime you needed anything, just to even pay. When the young lady waitress brought our drinks to a different table, I said to her those are for us. And when she gave me the beer which was for my husband, I switched it over to his side, and vice versa with my coke. I didn’t at any point say that the beer was mine. All I said was those drinks are ours as she was looking around. She then turned to the table next to us, and said ‘something like: I thought she was saying the beer was for her. Then they all laughed. Whilst I didn’t hear what she actually said, it’s very unprofessional to make comments about customers, to others right in front of them, and then laugh. Had lunch here today with family (3 adults 1 child) not elaborate meal, me...ciabater egg mayo with add-on bacon. Bread was very hard underneath, I also expected both halves of ciabater. Egg mayo nice. Bacon was 'julienne' like hard matchsticks. I had a doombar ale, yummy. Both daughter & son in law had ciabater tuna mayo, their bread fine. Grandson had fishfingers & chips, no complaints there. My real niggle was time it took to arrive at table, few people in cafe, inside & out on terrace but not rammed so 🤷 why it took so long, my daughter had to ask "how much longer" as grandson said 3 times, mum I'm hungry. Also why on earth are kids always served last, far better give them their food bey adults !!! Visited here many times, bringing my 81 year old Nan. We have ordered drinks before and have been waiting more than 15 minutes as if we've been forgotten about because we weren't ordering food. But this 2 star rating is due to how awful the one disabled/ladies toilet was upon visiting recently. I felt like walking out and not using the toilet. Yes I get that they were busy but that is no excuse to not hire an extra member of staff to clean toilets. There was a soaking wet floor because the sink is too small for the powerful tap. The base of the toilet on the outside was filthy. The rim of the seat had poop stains all around it and the top of the toilet had smeared poop all on the top. It was wrongly unrepresentable for guests to use. It' should be expected that it is clean considering it is the only cafe over...
