Tuk Tuk Thai — Restaurant in Wirral

Ordered from here many times before, always been happy, food is good and normally arrives quickly. It is pricey, normally around £15 a person for a takeaway if you want a starter and a main!

However tonight we ordered as they opened (5pm), must have been one of the first orders in for delivery! Was told the driver was in at 5:30 so we would have our food by 5:40-5:45, at 6:05 i called and asked where it was, i was told it was on its way and would be with us in a matter of minutes! At 6:20 i called and said still no food, she said she would call the driver and ring me back. 6:25 she called back and said the driver is literally outside and she would do a discount for our next order?! We said what about a discount for this order as it's now been 90 minutes since we ordered so thats 45 minutes late?!? She said discount next time and the driver is outside with our food which he was not.

Basically we told her to call the driver and tell him to take the food back (if he ever left in the first place!) £30 order in the bin and long time customers lost!!! We had a Dominos instead which was cheaper and arrived within 30mintes of ordering!!!! Five stars...

This has been our favourite restaurant for several years and we have dined in and ordered takeaway from there many times. Food has always been exceptional. Unfortunately, last night was the last time we will order from there. We ordered online and it went through just after 6pm. Charged for delivery, despite the website saying it is free within 2 mile radius (we are only a mile or so away) . Received a call 15 minutes after the order went through to advise they didn't have one of the ingredients for the main, did I just want the vegetables? Disappointing but ok, go on then... The website stated 30-45 minutes wait for delivery. It took an hour and a quarter to arrive with no apology from the delivery guy or restaurant! Food was lukewarm on arrival. Never known that before. I have been vegetarian for 30 years and found a small piece of chicken in my vegetarian main meal 😲 😡 Put me right off, I threw it in the bin. Sad to say I won't be eating...

What a hidden gem. Delicious food and fabulous service all at a very reasonable price. We had a mixed platter of starters which included prawn roast, chicken satay skewers, chicken wings, Thai fishcakes and a tempura king prawn with a sweet chilli dip and a peanut sauce too. Followed by prawn pad Thai for me and a very spicy prawn fried rice for him absolutely bursting with whole chilli's which he loved, both dishes had plenty of large juicy prawns. We finished with a portion of deep fried ice cream, which was amazing.
