Ok so I fancied a lamb curry and didn't want to spend hours cooking it. It was a Sunday and I was feeling a bit weak. Although I only remember ever having a decent biryani here and raita I thought if that's nice the rest of the food got to be good.
Lamb Biriyani -my favorite and taste just how I remember it from over a year ago. Only thing I would recommend you switch the curry you get with it to a raita as it's better.
Raita -best raita in the whole of the midlands by far. But unfortunately not even the best raita could redeem what is about to come.
Veg side dish that comes with biriyani - I don't know iv never cared for a veg gravy.
Masala lamb -chops too oily with a bit of a chew. But they got eaten. Will order the normal lamb chops in future.
Chili chips -if you like a lot of ketchup and chili sauce somothered all over your chips and mixed together this one is for you.
Plain chips -perfect just as I like them soft in the middle crispy on the outside
Green sauce -something wasn't quite right not sure what but think maybe it was going off.
Tamrid chutney -as it meant to be, not too hot not too mild in the middle just right.
Salad -seeing that you are paying for a salad I usually expect a bit more then a lot of lettuce and some carrots, cucumber and onions as a garnish. Don't be deceived by it's looks lol đ
Lamb Curry - if you like your dishes mild this is definitely for you. The lamb pieces were cooked perfectly. But the gravy it was in had been too mild for my liking and maybe too much butter giving it a sort of milder kick than I had hoped. I did see it had one đśď¸ chili next to it but for me there was hardly any. In comparison to a madras which had two chiliesđśď¸đśď¸ usually I cannot handle a madras far too chili so figured I must go for a one chili đśď¸ option. My mistake or yours I dont know.
Chicken and keema curry - my husband enjoyed this. I found the keema to be really tasty, however the chicken pieces had been really dry.
I would come again but only for the lamb Biriyani, raita and...
Read moreI decided to take a friend to Desi Yew Tree , for some food . 13.04.23 time 17.17 and served by a short Indian lad with glasses .
I asked for a traditional desi style chicken curry , & a medium mix grill , the curry came in all tomatoes, fried onions and dry chicken , looks like they added a tomato tin mixed with fried onions and chicken . In the mix grill , The red chicken breast was very dry ,looks like itâs been on some one elseâs plate and re heated and put on ours, or from left overs . I told the kitchen staff ,the curry is all tomatoes no flavor, and the chicken is hard and very dry They said tell the staff at the bar I told the Indian lad with glasses , Iâm not happy with the curry , he said thatâs what u ordered and thatâs what u got ,( he was rude ) I sat back down , then he walked passed , I showed him the curry , look itâs all tomatoes He ignored me and walked off , I managed to get his attention I told him the red chicken breasts donât taste nice He said whatâs wrong with it , I said itâs hard , dry and doesnât taste nice He went in the kitchen and never saw him again So we got up and walked out , to the bar I asked for his name ,he wouldnât give me his name ,I said the food was not nice , then the staff member ( tall lad ) and asked whatâs the problem , I told him and he didnât want to know and was rude
When I got back home I had a belly ache and on the toilet , so did my friend
I wonât be going there again , also I will tell my family & friends not to go there
Very un professional, very rude , no costumer service .. and ignoring my complaint ..not helpful..
I will now get in touch with food standard agency and complain about the food I got served I have taken photos of the chicken and...

After a false review a few months ago due to miss communication from a fellow group member i finally got the chance to try this establishment.
Very welcoming on entrance. Bar staff were quick to serve and show us to our table. Reasonable priced beer which was a bonus.
Nice to see the menu offering a variety of options. But as always i stuck to the same.
Medium sizzler - plenty meat and fish pakora to divulge into. I was a bit disappointed with the lamb chops. There was plenty flavour to them but a tad tough to chew. Everythin else though was fine.
Cheese and garlic naan bread - although there wasnt any grease to this there also wasnt much cheese to it. Not the best naan iv had.
Nepalese chips - now these are what you call chips. The best iv had while on my travels. A superb after taste with a little kick that brings the taste buds alive.
Massala sauce - very average. Just a standard sauce. Nothing really to write home about.
Plenty teles to watch the football on which is a bonus.
Very reasonably priced. One of the cheapest iv been to
All in all an enjoyable experience. If your after a nice cheap and cheerful grill with welcoming staff then this is the one to go to.
I would probably return but would think about changing...
