Read moreBooked a table couple of days in advance (around 5 days prior)
On the day I get told that I must pay a deposit to reserve the table as I'm guessing they're having a lot of inquiries into people dining in but not enough space. No problem.
Go there and sat down, looked through the menu. Simple not too confusing menu at all. Had an exact list of items I wanted. There's no Ribs at all and no Whole Smoked Chicken, no Smoked Chicken Legs.
Why am I here for? Just the brisket? How are you taking deposit for tables and don't have main items on the menu?? You're a smokehouse.
Was told supplier issue and was also told the other table ordered the items?? Bit confusing, do you have just 3 whole chickens and 5 large ribs. Disaster this was, wasn't happy at all but you keep it moving.
Iftar time..no sign of dates, just water. Broke the fast with water and went down to pray maghrib. Come back to see fries on the table and then the dates were served.
Brisket must be eaten ASAP or it gets dry, would give it a 5/10. UK is still playing catchup.
Chicken Wings were phenomenal but they gave us wrong ones. Wanted hot wings and 1 bbq, both came as lemon flavoured. No time for sending it back, hungry, iftar time, busy. Still tasted really good. 10/10
Fries were really good and presented really well. 7/10
Brisket Samosas were also really good, not dry, juicy and moist. 10/10
Sausages were really tasty thick and packed a lot of flavour. 7/10
Lamb Chops were thick and fatty. 7/10
Brisket burger was phenomenal, I'd only go back to order this as a takeout and munch it str8 away. 10/10
Chicken burger was also really really good, and the sauce used in that burger was something else. 10/10
Ordered the chicken steak. Nice big portion. The veggies were done perfectly, but the mash was a real let down. Soo dry and no butter or flavour. The chicken was really dry, seemed like it was on the plate for some time and they warmed up the plate and gave it. 6/10
The Mac and cheese was meh, no taste and not worth it. 2/10
Chicken strips seemed like it was fried 3 times.. overdone. 1/10
I know its Ramadan and its busy, but how can you take deposit and not have ribs or smoked chicken. This really put me off. And then no dates on time to open my fast.
Like the Kfc pandemic when they had no chicken.
I dont know how it is outside of Ramadan but the UK have a lot of catching up to do in this field. Apneh not built for this.. this goes for Manchester's Pitmaster..
Would I go again? Only for the burger and that's it.
Staff were good but I was left disappointed with overall...
Read moreWent here few weeks back during the end of ramadan. Paid a deposit over the phone due to them being busy and ensuring bookings turn up which is perfectly understandable.
When we arrived, there was water and dates on the table from the staff which I thought was a good touch and was greatly appreciated.
The menu was straight forward and easy to identify what you wanted. Issue being the main items customers came for were the smoked items. No whole chicken nor ribs were available. The brother had said they were having supplier issues. Prior to booking I had asked over the phone will all the smoked items be available to purchase I was told by the brother not to worry all items would be available and proceeded to take my deposit. So turning up and being told items were unavailable left a sour taste in the mouth considering we had been told they were available.
When the Azaan had gone me and the boys went to pray and cameback, where the other tables were getting their food we and the table next to us had to wait around another 30/40 mins after the azaan had gone to get the food, granted its ramadan I can accept they're busy and everyones a bit sluggish but 30/40 mins is a bit of a far stretch but we move..
Ordered the Meat tray 1 (£30 tray) firstly the wings were 10/10 they were banging defo a must try. The brisket itself lacked any real flavour and required the sauce to add anything to it. Granted this was the first time I ever had it i didnt really have much to compare it too so take it as you will. The mac and cheese was a let down it was literally just Mac they had forgotten the cheese.. the crazy fries were a 6/10 needed more sauce and chicken on top. The tray for £30 was slightly a let down. this is just my opinion for £30 you should be getting a lot more for your money. Some may struggle to finish it but for myself wasnt enough.
All in all sadly it did not live up to my expectations and all that I had seen from tiktok. I am sure over time it will improve. The brother serving us was top class, top guy can not complain about the staff at the...
