As an ex land lord there the customers are the greatest. But now the pub has another landlady and trust me .. if you want to be treated like a kid and screached at please stay away .. This pub has nothing but profit thats declining every day . Before customer services and you say anything or do anything that the land lady dont want you will get a 2 week ban and you will need to get a new hearing aid . She has no idea at all on how customer services should be . ITS LIKE IT OR LUMP IT OF fluff off in her books ITS NOT THE BEST PUB IN BILSTON TRUST ME . Visited yesterday just for a quick one, it's unusual for me not to be driving so thought we'd make the most of it. 11:30ish (am) but quite busy, proper old school boozer. Served quickly and found a quiet spot to sit and take in our surroundings. There's definitely a core of hardened regulars, laughing joking and sharing.

One lady left her purse in the disabled toilets and one of the regulars who want in as she came out called her back to get it.

Not bad prices on the drinks and people were taking their own food in (as I've seen in some of the old school boozers I regularly frequent.)

Somewhere I'd not hesitate to visit again if in the area and not driving but not somewhere I'd make a special...

This place has become my home away from home whilst I am in the area from London.

It encapsulates everything you want from a local boozer with great beer, great service and a decent atmosphere no matter what the time or the day.

We need more pubs to learn from this example and the business will boom again
