Hadn't been in this pub for years. My happy memories were of a great traditional real ale pub serving a good selection of very well kept beers and home cooked comfort food. So sad to see it now, having been refurbished in a way which has totally destroyed its unique character and serving only one cask beer, which was a very mediocre Greene King IPA. The security guard wasn't aware that the function room was called 'moonlight lounge'. patrons walked around like zombies. openly 'sniffing' in the bathrooms. bar staff did not want to tell me the cost of my order but just asked me to tap my payment.
On the flipside the outside area was lovely. Lots of seating, relaxed atmosphere and fab little fruit orchard.

On the plus side, they've got a load of space outside since putting tables on their once lovely bowling green.
