Grill-It Newbridge — Restaurant in Wolverhampton

Shocking to say the least. First of all we are greeted with a ‘take a menu and find a table’ but not really a major concern of mine, however, the food came out so quick, i thought well surely not, its chicken, unless its been reheated. (I mean i know most pubs & restaurants do that) but when I saw it, the garlic bread was not cooked, the chicken was warm but on the verge of been cold. The only thing that was hot was the chips. Not one staff member came out and asked us how our food was, they would have known that I didn’t even touch it because I didn’t fancy getting food poisoning. I ended up getting a pizza from next door dominos which was nice and only cost me £8 whereas this cost me £15 🫠🫠 we even stayed extra just to see if they’d come and clear the plates but nothing. My boyfriend asked to get a takeaway box to take away his chicken and still not a word said. The only words exchanged were when we left and they just said see ya. You may think well maybe they were busy? No. we were the only ones in there and it’s a Monday evening so you think they’d have no pressure of making the food decent considering we were the only ones in there or at least ask us how our food is. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. I wouldn’t have reviewed it if I got a chance to speak to them about it and they could have rectified there and then but they weren’t obviously interested so here’s...

Really dissapointed with 'Grill it' today. I have used them regularly since they opened and have really liked the quality of food and portion size.

Unfortunately today after picking up a £45 order for the family I got home to find that over half of the fries were undersized. Upon calling up to establish why the portions were small i was informed that the size is normal - this is not the case based on over a dozen previous visits. I was then told by a different person (i assume the manager) that she personally checked them all and they were fine. At this point, when you are speaking with someone who has lied or is incompetent there was no point continuing the conversation.

In truth I was only hoping for an apology or a justified reason for the change (maybe a new worker learning etc). I didn't expect or want an offer of replacement as i was already home. Unfortunately due to the complete lack of customer service and disregard for customer satisfaction I shall not be using 'Grill it' again.

I would not suggest that others should stay away, however I would recommend that you check your orders before leaving the restaurant.

On a positive note, the young lady who served me originally and took my initial call was...

Not much variety but the food is tasty as I always have half chicken hot, peri fries, med salad & maybe coleslaw!!

Every now & then the coleslaw has been flat like stored to long.

A couple of occasions the lid on the salad not secured so it ends up pouring all over the rest of the food, seating through the bag onto car seat so when I went to pick it up the bag fell through the bottom.

A couple of occasions I asked for hot chicken & didn’t get what I ordered when I got home!!

On a couple of occasions when I've asked for peri fries & got home it's like they ran out of peri powder because only a bit on the top & most of the fries below no peri!!

When you tell the girls an issue, they give this look of zero & although the girls are nice it's my experience but not all the girls!! Now when an issue occurs it should be immediately explained to the owners behind the counter as its only if they look over & over hear a customer experience they have on one occasion not charged me, not that I've asked but obviously appreciated.

Oh & the prices are high!!
