We fancied a nice walk along a canal and visited a nature reserve at the same time. You do need some boots as in places it's muddy. Especially along the brook, which sits in front of the canal, but the canal side is covered in a fine dark grey gravel, which is easy to walk and so calming, considering where it is. You park at the carpark which was an old railway, and can keep to one side or cross over at intervals along the path.

On a nice Sunday afternoon it was pretty quiet with the exception of a few very friendly dog walkers. You can walk as far ir as little as you want. The carpark is behind the wine shop but not where the sat nav or google maps tries to take you. As we came along the A41 from the Cosford direction it was a right hand turn at the traffic lights as you go down the slope and then an immediate left (which there are brown signs clearly telling...

Just a lovely laid back walk in the heart of Wolverhampton, the old railway line is a pleasure to take your four legged friends and just get lost in nature, bird song, green trees and intertwined with the canal, couple of pubs along the way what more could you want on a sunny afternoon. Our Labrador was a little taken back by her first encounter with a frog 🐸 but she loved every minute of it. You can finish by enjoying a brew and cake at the old station house. Just go...

Lovely walk with my dog, particularly in the heat because it's so shady. However there needs to be some effort made to provide bins for dog mess. It's a popular walk with dog owners, yet there are very few bins of any description, and this is evidenced by the amount of filled poo bags which presumably owners have got fed up of carrying. It's a shame to see the walk littered with them, and of course they are not biodegradable so harmful to the environment as well. Bins...

I only give this place a 4*due to only having one toilet and the key is located in the cafe, but you can't have it unless you buy something, The museum is full of wonderful and informative people and things to see but is not big enough for a mobility scooter, there's also a little gift shop run by two lovely ladies and reasonably priced items. I was there attending an event on The British Legion stall.

Best tea and cake I have had on one of our family winter wanders and I really like the idea of turning the old railway line into a footpath. Was quite muddy in places the day we went so the pram wasn't ideal but that was to be expected given the weather but overall would and have recommended it as a nice walk that doesn't have to take all day

A little tranquil gem on the edge of the city of Wolverhampton, running alongside the canal. Free accessibility 24 hours a day, great for walkers, runners, dog walkers, kids and cyclists. Lovely for it's mix of wildlife, flora and fauna in abundance. Birdsong in the day, peaceful in the night.
