As someone who works in hospitality, I'd like to give you some feedback guys. I know that quiet days are (unlike most people would think) the days when your servers are most likely to miss the opportunity to offer your guests an amazing experience, but I was on a date there tonight and the service was just terrible. At the door, the girl didn't even look at us while talking to us. Then we had a starter and the plates weren't cleared before the mains arrived. When the mains arrived they asked us if we wanted a bigger table which is something you want to ask before, not when the food is already there and it would be too much of a hassle to move. We also had to literally pick up our own plates and wait until the mains were on the table and only then we could pass the starter plates to the waiter. I wasn't given a knife with my main either, we had to take one from a different table. Not even 2 min after our food was brought, a different waiter came to do the checkback even though none of us even had a bite yet and it was quite obvious as the food was untouched, he just asked his question anyway and disappeared when my date just said it's fine as there was no point in pointing the obvious. The tomato tarte by the way is just not something to call a main, nor was it tasty, but we'll get past that. Half way through our meal, my date wanted another drink and even though there were 3 servers in sight, none of them were aware of their surroundings, it took us a good 3-4 min to get someone's attention. The steak was good and my date enjoyed it, but the service was just dissapointing...
Read moreClassy! Our first visit to this restaurant and called in on saturday afternoon in the hope of a table being available . Received a friendly greeting at the door from a canadian gentleman who was very accommodating and showed us to a nice table. Mark our waiter was really friendly ,efficient and attentive , even making sure that I tried the bottled cider when it came to see if I liked it. Soon ordered more of the Sassy cider as I really enjoyed it. Complimentary bottle of water . Hubby enjoyed his Kronenburg and glass of house red wine. He was also given a free taster of another red wine to see if he liked it for future visits. The meals were delicious! My Poulet Breton meal was really enjoyable , paying the pound extra to upgrade to triple cooked chips was a good choice. All well cooked and presented. Hubby had Beef Cheek Bourguignon and also really enjoyed his meal. I tried a bit of his meat and it was so tasty. Will be hard which meal to decide on for our next visit as both superb. Caramalised Tarte au Citron and Rum Baba for deserts were also really to our tastes . also well cooked and presented.
This was a suprise treat for my birthday and a good choice as it felt so classy and special. (Was going to book again while there for my actual birthday night , but all the restaurants in the chain are closing that one night at 6pm for staff xmas parties)
Thanks for making our first visit to a Cote Brasserie restaurant such an enjoyable evening. We will definitely be visiting this...
Read moreVery lovely place. First time visiting. Even through it was busy the atmosphere was lovely, the mood music was perfect, gentle music in the background and not to loud so you have to shout across the table and you can't hear the person talking, the gentleman found us a beautiful little spot in the corner which was nice and private and unlike a lot of places ALL the staff were attentive to their customers and were paying attention. Even though we were in the corner we wasn't forgotten and overlooked like other places you go. The staff were very incredibly friendly and professional. One reason I wanted to go here was because my husband is French. Even he was impressed by the food, gave it 10/10. I would 100% recommend this place. We were served by a lovely gentleman called Dylan. So friendly and attentive, I tried to leave him an extra tip but he told me the service charge covered that and I didn't have cash, honestly I was so impressed by his service when i do go back I will be leaving him a little something extra. We will definitely be going back and I would recommend this place to anyone to try, make sure to book as theres no guarantee a table otherwise. On a side note speaking as a plus size diners, my husband and i shared a garlic bread, I had steak and fries and my husband had the beef bourguignon. Even though they are not sizes you would get at your local pub the food is lovely and filling. We ate about noonish, and ended up having a late/light tea as we were still...
