Goring Fish & Chips - Goring-by-sea — Restaurant in Worthing

We discovered this place kind of by accident when we were visiting an elderly friend of ours who lives in a nearby old folks home and she asked us to get her some fish and chips. This was the nearest one and as it turned out a lucky find! It certainly is a fish and chip shop with all the menu items you would expect on the menu and all freshly cooked. But on top of that it also sells just about every other fast food items on the menu from burgers to pizza and everything in-between including some yummy looking home made dessert items which I plan to sample next time we visit there! The place is run and I presume owned by a delightful and very friendly young couple who have been there for only 10 months and I believe took over from the former owner who had not been popular so they faced having to get back a tarnished reputation on top of starting a new business and in my eyes they are and have done a great job so far! The food was fresh tasty and piping hot. They also take telephone orders for either collection or delivery so if like us you often have friends round and they all want different things which involves having to go to several places it's great to find somewhere that does it all. Highly recommend this place and will be using it...

I've had a doner kebab twice in the last week. My wife had a pizza first time & a burger second time . Both times we have had chips . The doner kebab is the best in my entire life ! & I enjoy a kebab! Seriously good . The pitta was fresh , the salad was fresh & the Donner meat was ungreasy. The pizza my wife had was amazing ! & The burger was amazing . The chips were proper fish & chips shop chips . Absolutely perfect Well done guys ! Finally I have found an amazing takeaway. Maybe it was just the wrong night. Waited for 15 minutes, only one in there. They seemed more interested in doing phoned orders than doing mine. After that wait expected the food to be fresh, couldnt have been further from the truth. Lukewarm chips, haddock certainly not freshly cooked, one of them had hardly any decent fish inside the batter, the "large" cod might just have scraped in as medium. If it had been earlier in the evening would have taken it all back....
