New Years eve Ordered takeaway at 19.30. was told pick up in 45-1hr. Went there at 20.30 and it was chaos there ...as I walked in people had been sat on the table waiting to be seen for over an hour. They weren't even offered a drink or starters. Eventually many people simply just walked out. The guy at the counter looked like he was about to cry and didn't understand a word he said. No music there either. Eventually got my takeaway at 21.55. The owner was no where to be seen and just threw the staff under the bus... When asked I was told that all the regular kitchen staff had gone back to India to see their family and the new staff had only been there a week.

But.....I have to say the young lady at the till was amazing. She was dealing all of this while doing deliveries. She offered everyone a beer on the house and she was the only one who knew what she was doing.

The whole place was very badly managed last night. Let's hope it was...

We were going to order and collect our Christmas day meal but hadn't realised that according to the leaflet I should have ordered and paid for it 24 hours ahead, no discounts or deals would be honoured on that particular day plus there would be a 20% surcharge. We decided to by-pass Shafique's and ordered from another reputable and reliable restaurant. Didn't mind the slightly longer drive to collect but not only did we still get the 10% discount for collection but we were also given the free bottle of wine which complimented our meal perfectly. We've been customers of Shafique's since before he even opened the restaurant on the Goring Road and we will return for both eating in and out but felt that the conditions placed on Christmas Day took the rise...

Took my parents here for the first time! The weather was wet and foul! My parents are 84 years old! The waiting staff watched as my mother struggled to open the front door! I was helping my father! Not a good first impression! We were pointed to our table our coats soaked! They watched as we took off our coats! We had to hang wet coats on the back of our chairs! We were given no help whatsoever! They literally stood doing nothing watching us! Not a good second impression! At this point I very nearly walked out! I appeased my parents and we ordered the meal! The food was very good but as I have said it's not just about that!...
