We had a beautiful Christmas meal on Friday made by the chef Cody and Simba. The meals were fantastic. We had a three course dinner; I had the festive soup and my partner has the mushrooms on on ciabatta. Both were incredibly tasty and all plates were emptied. For mains, we both had the vegetarian Wellington and it was super tasty and very Christmassy. Our desserts were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I had the classic Christmas pudding and my partner had the cheesecake- they were very yummy. On our entry we were safely brought inside the pub by Joe who presented us to our table at a safe distance. Every staff member was wearing masks (and Christmas jumpers!) The service by Kelly, Chris and Tristan was outstanding! They were so polite and attentive and made the whole experience really lovely whilst also making sure they kept a safe distance. Everyone was so chatty and joyous and it was extremely pleasant experience. The pub was brilliantly laid out in a "pubsafe" manner. There was perspex in front of the tills keeping everyone safe and markings around the pub to remind everyone to keep two meters apart. There were special mechanisms on the toilet to easily show if it was in use or free which I thought were a brilliant idea! All tables were spaced far enough apart so as to keep the atmosphere busy and lively you were always far enough away from other patrons. The pub is doing brilliantly during this pandemic and we would both happily visit again soon.

Popped in with my partner and his kid for what was meant to be a quick lunch before the cinema. First and last time visiting. We ordered 2 grilled cheese toasties and one chicken BLT (2 of them with chips). First our drinks were taken to the wrong table because we wrote in the table number (it was a physical number tag on the table which was apparently meant to have been removed as the table numbers are now on the menu holders) but there was a vase infront of ours so we saw the table number which was different before we saw the correct table number, either way 2 different table numbers is confusing. The food took about 40 minutes to arrive which is a long time for such a basic lunch and it wasn’t even busy, the food was average. For some reason my partners side salad was dry with no dressing (the other two had dressing, it had obviously been forgotten on my partners plate), and for some reason on his kids toastie there was a tiny piece of ham..? Luckily none of us are vegetarian but you obviously cook your vegetarian food with the meat foods which is cross contamination. Rubbish experience overall, won’t be returning.

We booked easily through the website and came as a family on a quiet night—we had a great time! The pub is beautiful, the staff were lovely and welcoming, and the menu had something for everyone. We ordered fish and chips, a fresh salad, and truly scrumptious desserts. Special mention for the gooey brownie and the sticky toffee pudding—absolutely delicious! The mocktails deserve a big shoutout too. As non-drinkers, it’s always such a treat to enjoy something more exciting than just juice or soda. Kudos to you for that thoughtful touch! All in all, great pub food in a warm setting. We only missed the live music—but we’ll just have to come back on the right day! Thanks again, and see you next time!

The name of the place is perfectly describing it. 😬 We came here yesterday to have some snack while had a stroll around Worthing. As they are prompting you to download and order via their app we have done it to help them out. We have ordered some nuggets with bbq sauce to come with it, house salad, fries and smashed roasted crispy potatoes. When the nuggets came drowning in the bbq sauce I politely asked if we have another portion of those but just dry without a cause because we haven’t realised it’s going to be covered in the sauce. The waitress not very nicely said: “but are you prepared to pay for that?!!” Which I found quite not a nice manner for customer service as I do work in customer services myself. But we left in and started to eat the soggy nuggets until I tried to get my smashed crispy potatoes which had far from being smashed or even done on my fork. They were raw!! I couldn’t even take it on fork. I went to bar to ask them if I could kindly have that exchanged the lady took them. We then waited about half an hour to get another portion. While waiting I thought I at least start to eat my house salad which had handful of rocket, 3 tiny dices of tomato and one slice of cucumber. The tomatoes were off and it made me gag. 🤢 When other waiter came after half an hour to ask if I still want the potatoes or refund I thought I still give them a chance but hope they will be done this time I got same potatoes sliced to smaller pieces on the same bowl, microwaved but still raw. So the only eatable from all this was the fries which was handful for us to share. For £20.50!! We have been planing to take our family to one of the greenery king pubs over the Christmas to stay and have dinners but will definitely avoid any of...

First time visiting, came in for a friends birthday. Upon arrival, was served my drink quite quickly. But when it came to order food, me and my partner were able too order but they then closed ordering just as our friend went to put theirs in. She went down to the bar to ask when it would reopen and one of the women working there was extremely rude saying “can’t you see how busy it is? It’s not my priority right now” and so when our friend came back to the table; we decided to cancel the food and the woman was then to me for absolutely no reason when I asked if we would be refunded. She then tried getting us to stay after being rude and we said “no we would rather just leave thank you” being polite about it

We then got half way down the road and she chased after us, trying to offer us something to come back, asking for my email to which I said “look we would rather just leave, I am not going to give you my email when it was my friend that you were rude too” and she continued to go on for another five minutes before we eventually got to go our own way once again saying “no we would rather just go thank you” and she walked away without an apology.

my partner also had to call for his refund a week later because they had not done his but I received mine 2 days later after the visit.

Not happy, never had service like this before and is a massive shame considering this was a first visit for myself and did not set a good tone, was looking to come back for my birthday but safe to say I will now not...

First off, this review does not blame the staff themselves for what happened, it's not their fault that they were short-staffed, it's management's. There seemed to be only three people (including cook) working on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Booked a table for 7 people for one o'clock on a Sunday. We all bought a drink at the bar when we arrived. We were told that food was going to be about an hour wait, which we accepted. Two of us ordered food via the Greene King app. One of our party went to the bar to order, and was told that they were no longer taking food orders. We went back to the bar to cancel our app orders, as it seemed a bit unfair to make everyone wait an hour for two of us to eat in front of them. There was some confusion but we were told that the orders were cancelled and would be refunded in 3-5 working days. We then went to Nandos and were seated immediately and served food soon after. After five working days, we had still not received the refunds despite contacting the bar through Facebook, as we were advised to do if they didn't turn up. I contacted Greene King's customer service team via Twitter and they began an investigation. They identified the transactions, but instead of just processing the refund they make you jump through hoops, which makes me feel like I'm being dishonest.

So here we are, 10 days later and we are still without either food or refund. Maybe if I ever go back to Thieves Kitchen I'll advise them that there'll be an hour wait for payment once the food...
