CAFE MASALA INDIAN RESTAURANT & TAKEAWAY — Restaurant in Wyre Forest

Firstly apologies for the long post. I want to make sure that everything is accounted for.

After hearing some great reviews about this place we thought we would give them a try.

My husband visited the establishment to order and collect. After placing our order he paid via card. After working out the costing as it seemed on the tad expensive side he queried the price (granted he should have done this before paying) it turned out that they charged us the restaurant price instead of the take away price. He did say to them that they shouldn't do this, their reply was they are waiting for new menus to be delivered. He left giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Once home we plated up, turned out one of our meals was incorrect. We phoned up to explain, we firstly asked for the whole order (2 meals) to be delivered again as we wanted to eat together, they refused. We then asked for our money back, they refused. I agreed for the one meal and sides to be re delivered again. However let me explain how I got to this point.

The manager felt the need to keep talking over me again and again as I was trying to explain (granted I was talking over him which I hated doing, otherwise I would not have got a word in) I had to ask him to calm down and speak a little slower at one point as I couldn't understand him. I have never EVER been spoken to so rudely as a paying customer.

I agreed for him to rectify the mistake that was made. I told him that he could take back the incorrect food when he dropped off the correct like for like order at this point he started chuntering again so I politely told him that I wasn't going to be spoken to like this and put the phone down. I bagged up the wrong order along with the rice and nann bread, placed everything back into the cartons.

A minute or so later the landline rings (thank you for waking up my children) The guy in all due respect apologies and said he had, had a bad day. I didn't argue or thank him I just gave him our address and put the phone down.

20 minutes later a tap on the door my husband answers it's the delivery being delivered by the actual Manager or so we were told. My husband takes the delivery and hands the wrong order all bagged up to the driver he takes it then drops the bag on the floor my husband picked it up and handed it back to him at this point I come down the stairs after putting my children back to bed and gave him 'the stare' (that us women do best) told him that I would never be using their establishment ever again after all that had happened and closed the door.

To top it all off the order that they delivered was not like for like they gave me the incorrect nann bread. I definitely wasn't going to phone them back.

I am really and truly shocked my the attitude and actions of this establishment and will definitely not be recommending them to anyone.

Both myself and my husband did not rate the taste of the curry itself (this has nothing to do with the above)

Cafe Masala please don't respond saying that all this has been made up (I have taken a read of your negative reviews and you seem to respond this way)

It's such a shame as I don't like negatively but felt I had to share our first and last experience of Cafe Masala.

Sorry for the long post, however I wanted to make sure that I covered every bit of detail.

I really am truly shocked by what has happened his evening.

An update: Since my above honest review I have received two left messages on my home phone informing me that I have made the whole thing up and basically calling us liars. Needless to say I won't be returning any calls or dealing with them or their establishment ever...

This place is an absolute JOKE ! my son has been working there for just over a month, his not long left school in college so worked here for a bit of cash..all was going well until last night,14/05/22 he went to the restaurant to collect his wages that he earned last week...to be told he had to go back later on, so him and his mate (which also worked there)went back later on in the evening...to be told they could pick up there wages and that they had to wait two weeks for it...my son asked no can I have them tonight..which the manger then gave abuseive language and told him to get out...in which then he stood up and grabbed my son which his buised him!! Then he came outside ro tell me in which the manager followed him and then went to hit him!!! I am a full witness to this and also his friend...for god sake he only wanted his wages...the place is an absolute JOKE! Under age staff behind the bar serving drinks...12 year olds also working there the bloke and the place is discussing and the management is an absolute JOKE!! I don't advise anyone to go there! The manager is...

I've been living with my family in Kidderminster for over a year now, and today we did some sundry shopping, after which we were a bit hungry. We generally prefer Indian food (although we are Romanians), and it happened that we were only 400 m from this restaurant, which we discovered on Google, as the closest to us, considering that we do not have our own car, we found it appropriate to walk to the restaurant, to whet our appetites more. For the first time we ate at Café Masala Restaurant, a 5-star restaurant, by the way, very chic at first glance, with beautiful table settings, very kind staff. The whole menu was fabulous, starting from the starters to the dessert (the coffee didn't fit as the Indian menus are filling☺️). Special thanks to Ronnie, who was very attentive and kind, and from whom we learned that he prepared the mint sauce (of which we asked him to put takeaway for us too 😄). Everything was wonderful!
