Poor Experience – Would Not Return

We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and felt compelled to share our experience.

When we arrived, we were given a room that had clearly not been cleaned. The bedsheets were pulled back, there was hair on the duvet, the pillows were messy, towels were left on the bathroom floor, and even the toilet hadn’t been flushed. While the staff did move us to a different room after we raised the issue, it was a concerning first impression.

Unfortunately, their poor communication was exposed again the next morning, around 8:15 AM, a cleaner entered our room without knocking while my partner had just stepped out of the shower. This was a serious breach of privacy and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the cleaner questioned whether we were supposed to be in the room at all, adding to the confusion and frustration.

Even after that, we were made to feel pressured to leave the room well before the 11:00 AM checkout time. The cleaner returned yet again to ask if we had returned the key, while my partner was already waiting outside.

These repeated intrusions and the general lack of professionalism made us question the standards and, coupled with the lack of reply to our concerns via email, this really was a dissatisfying experience.

Overall, our stay was uncomfortable and stressful, and we would not stay here again. I would not recommend this hotel based on...

Disgusting and rude service today, over an hour for food to arrive off brunch menu, we were the first to order and arrived in an empty restaurant. we had to take away in the end the parking ran out. Before we left we asked for a receipt and they ran out of paper! My partner explained politely and the waitress didn’t care, apologise or offer anything else.

Image of the steak, NOT medium as requested and half the amount. They didn’t have any take out boxes and my mother’s meal, arrived in this condition!

This used to be an amazing eatery. Now just a rip off with a waitress that has no customer service skills.

EDIT: following the reply I can see that whoever has done so has brilliantly made me out to be a liar and someone that tried to leave without paying! That was not the case at all, we didn’t have our food and had to ask for it to be bagged up, so how did we try and leave without paying? The woman said there was no till roll and couldn’t give a receipt, we asked for the receipt as the bill came to an exact amount! Well done for replying with no substance at all….oh and thanks for the Tesco carrier bag from the bottom of my heart.

I had a lovely Sunday roast so decided to go back the same week for the steak deal on 07/012/23 my streak was lovely but I found a very long black hair on my plate , was not mine , I’m blonde , My mother in laws steak was so tough she couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife We informed the waiter who was very apologetic and asked if we wanted another one My mother in law did have another one which was exactly the same as the first one , full of gristle and really tough , obviously she couldn’t eat it .
