What a great pub for real ale on the main high street, it used to be Barclays bank and the old volt door is visible at the rear of the pub, a must visit we will do again shortly. This pub serves and keeps real ale well, they have a varied range from stouts, pale ales and Thatchers cider to cool you down on warm summer evenings. Nice cob bar snacks available along with pickled eggs. Its dog friendly too.

A reasonable selection of cask ales if you like old fashioned traditional beers. Most of the customers are fairly elderly and if they would like to attract a wider audience I would suggest adding some more modern offerings. Craft keg and interesting new world hop beers would improve the chances of me returning. On the plus side, the pub was clean and tidy throughout.

Another great place to visit whilst staying or having a day trip to Bewdley. At least 9 ales on tap including some very tasty chestnut ones. There's a selection of bar snacks that won't set you back much money. A real fire was adding to the comfort of the pub and a selection of books to enjoy whilst sitting in the comfy chairs.

Great little pub and sure to become a regular visitor. Very cosy atmosphere and great choice of ales. Only negatives are : As another reviewer said service sometimes isn't great. A few times now I have been the victim of serving people in wrong order. Although people getting served should point out others were first. Just basic good manners. Only other thing is there seems to be some confusion as to wether you order ales by name or pump number. The beers are numbered on the pumps and on screen so you would think is how to order (as with several other real ale pubs I visit) but it seems dependant on who's serving. Some staff look confused when you just say pump number. On the whole though place is great and I'll be...

The Real Ale Tavern (aka the RAT) is a great new addition to the line up of pubs in Bewdley. Jerome and Tracy have made it a very welcoming place that's dog friendly, although they don't allow kids, which is also a benefit as it keeps the atmosphere to be more of a traditional local pub, rather than a family eatery.

Serving a wide variety of beers and ales they always have over 10 real ales and a couple of real ciders on the go, and these rotate almost daily. They don't serve hot meals but do have cobs and pork pies, along with the normal bar snacks.

The RAT also has a 100 club, which means they keep track of which beers you have drunk and when you've had 100 different ales you...

Our 5th visit to Bewdley. Last visit 2nd Sept for a week. Always call in here. Good selection of real ales and ciders, however have noticed decline in number of selection available. Has "The 100 Club" gone? Never really had "tavern" atmosphere (especially as you are haunted!), we feel, because of the decor, more like a dated sitting room! (owners...have you seen The Little Pack Horse up the road? Now that feels like a tavern). May get you...
