I was very impressed with the reopening of this Indian restaurant, having lost money due to being closed for months and then having to open up under the new procedures and hygiene standards I think they deserve congratulations. My partner first called and booked our table, when we arrived we were greeted by very friendly and calm gentlemen wearing the correct PPE. They showed us to our table and took our orders for drinks once browsing the menu, they arrived quickly considering there were a few other full tables and people collecting takeaways. We ordered our food and when our sauces and popadoms were brought to the table, they were covered with cling film which I was very impressed with. The staff's table service was impeccable and efficient considering the current circumstances, our food was brought to the table and it was lovely and so delicious and well presented. Once we finished our food we sat for a while to enjoy a few drinks and the staff came over continually to collect empty glasses and bring refills. Whilst settling the bill we were brought the usual aniseeds and chocolate mints but this time they were brought in small tubs, again I was impressed with how the staff had stuck to the new hygiene standards. The staff took our contact details for the new track and trace procedure, we payed our bill and left a well deserved tip. Beautiful starter, poppadom, curry and naan bread (apart from the salad which was stale and not fresh). Great selection for vegetarians. However Absolutely awful and disappointing service.. especially for the price! Took forever to take order, then got the order wrong, then presented us with food we hadnt ordered, accused us of not paying for drinks (despite paying for drinks separately at the bar. The man did this in such a confronting and rude way to purposefully make us feel embarrassed and draw attention to us arguing with us. Ended up having to show online banking to prove our innocence! At that point I wanted to leave as we were made to feel so uncomfortable) & then he sat on our table and added up our bill at the end demanding that we hadnt paid the full amount .. which we had. We were made to feel like criminals!

Staff seemed incredibly stressed and unable to cope with demand of customers on a friday night it was hectic and so busy in there. The only pleasant member of staff was the young lady serving at the bar who was very approachable and smiley.

Tonight I was assaulted by the manager at this Indian. Ash, as I explained to him that my meal was not great. He was rude and obnoxious down the phone, so I was advised to take the meal back. I put it down on the counter in front of him and he turned into some serial monster. He did it in front of his staff and a customer tried to intervene when he grabbed my arm. He was screaming get out of my restaurant, his colleague looked in shock. This is not the first time that he has been abusive to his customers. This attack was unwarranted and I will ensure that he never does this again to anyone else. He is a bully and thinks he can throw his weight around like he is some god. I have informed the police and they will be contacting him for voluntary arrest He states that I was escorted off the premises...
