Edited review, as I am unable to post a second review of this restaurant. We decided to give them a second shot tonight and ended up leaving within 10 mins of our food being served. I ordered the burrito california with steak which came out cold. I had no idea if that food inside had been cooked this morning or yesterday. My sister in laws order was wrong, and when brought back it looks like the jalapeño were just picked out of the nachos. My husband's chimichanga was hot, because that has to be fried. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Some people may get good service here, but not us. I don't know where all these 5 star reviews come from, maybe staff or friends. I'd eat here at your own risk. 1st review: We decided to try Blue Agave tonight. We have heard all these rave reviews about the food and service. We went in and placed a to-go order at the bar for the steak nachos and chroizo queso. They were busy, but not too busy. The restaurant feels crowded and the tables are close to each other. We waited 40 mins for our food. The girl that rang us up barely acknowledged us. Other servers did ask if we were waiting on a to-go order. I felt like they didn't really care about a to-go order customer. When our order came out the girl just said "here" and thrusted the bag in my hands. At home, we found our order was not hot, like it had been sitting in the back for awhile. We had to reheat everything. We will not be trying this place again. Not sure what the rave is about, maybe it's nice to eat there if you don't mind feeling crowded.

It was our first time to try Blue Agave and it was very good! We ordered our food to-go and since they weren’t very busy we just waited at the bar watching the TV and chatting with some of the staff who were all super nice! The whole menu sounds great but Mom got her usual of Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas which she said were very good! I asked for a recommendation and one worker said she loves both the chicken and the shrimp chimichangas so I got the chicken chimichangas with charro beans and habanero rice! The chimichangas were great and surprisingly big! The beans (which I’m picky on) were perfect and the habanero rice, though less spicy than it sounds, was good! I definitely plan on trying more of the menu but as good as my food this time was I kinda wanna order the exact same thing again! They have lots of good looking drink options (which seemed a bit pricey) but the our order was pretty reasonable (both $11.99) considering the generous amount of food plus a free bag of very good chips with 2 cups of unusually good salsa! 100% recommended and definitely planning to return! Update… The food and people here are always great! Very generous portions that we usually order our own but end up taking half home for later! The steak or chicken chimichangas are perfectly crispy and amazing and the sweet tea is very good too! If you’re less hungry the quesabirria are a great choice!

Blue Agave was a fantastic experience! My friend and I were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant. Then, the hostess found us. Table very quickly. We were brought chips and salsa that are included in the meal. The salsa was very good! It is pretty heavy on the cilantro, but I love it...so I thought it was great. The chips were fresh as well. Our waitress immediately took our drink orders and continued to check on us until we were ready to order. We placed our orders and received refills on drinks and salsa! Our orders came to the table very quickly. My friend had the beef Street Tacos and I had the Chicken Quesadilla. Both of them were very good and came with very good portions for the price. My Quesadilla came with rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream on the plate. The only 'negative' about the restaurant is it is very loud. We had to lean in over the table to get where we could hear each other and carry on a conversation. But I can get past that for a place that does everything else right like food, service, prices, & atmosphere. I will be recommending Blue Agave to my friends and family!

This used to be a favorite date night spot for us until about 2 weeks ago. We had both ordered our favorite dishes. And my husband was halfway through his and I was 3 bites in when I put my hand down on the table next to my plate and immediately a roach ran straight out of the taco and onto my hand. I immediately smacked it and called the server over who went to get the manager. When he came out, I told him what happened. He just walked off....no reaction, response, nothing. 5 minutes later he came back and said "no roach in the food, fly from the light". I proceeded to tell him, no Sir, not a fly, this cockroach came straight from the taco. He kept telling me it was a fly, even though the evidence was right there. He walked off again and the server came back a few minutes later and said "he took your meal off the ticket" . Which he did not....he took the $10 meal off, not the $15 meal with the roach. I literally only took 3 bites before it happened. I was upset, because it had been tasting delicious until the roach ran out of it. I just felt the whole thing was handled HORRIBLY! They didn't even make things right, technically, they comped the wrong meal...and did not even apologize. Just acted like I'm a liar and/or stupid. We will not be back. Just a fair warning. Smack the table or tap your plate on the table a few good times before...
