I ordered the large cheeseburger with mustard, mayo, and lettuce/tomatoes. The burger buns were great, and tater tots a little too crispy, though. The meat patty was big. However, it was awful. There was no flavor in it at all, and the meat texture was somewhat hard to chew, and it did not feel like I was chewing on a beef patty. There is something quite different about the meat patty that is unpleasant from other cheeseburgers that I have had at other burger stands. This Texas Flaming Grill is using a very poor grade of beef patty, and they should rethink this and use a true and high-quality beef patty and taste test it for consistency and replace this current patty they are using. 90% of a real good burger is in the meat, and that is where the customer memory is, along with the repeat business and giving all of the customers a reason to come back. Instead, they are chasing me away to go somewhere else where I have had great tasting burgers in the past and the thing is, I do remember taste and the quality in a good burger and I am willing to pay the price they charge but not at this place. I also ate half of my burger and refrigerated it and ate it the next day for lunch . The result was the same, and it was tasteless and like I was chewing on strange texture of meat, so I know I was not having a bad day with the food. My taste buds and opinions are spot on about this terrible meat patty that they use. I will not come back if they do not change the...
Read moreFinally managed to hit up Texas Flaming grill. Lots of hype... I don't get it. The good - my daughter had the gyro. The meat was well seasoned and the veg fresh. The "tzatziki" was more like hidden valley ranch but overall- good sandwich just a bit basic. We've had good Greek food, this was a solid try...ish The server ? Kept calling it a jy roh vs yeero -small pet peve. The bad - flies everywhere. I understand their vent hood is not working, and the restaurant was very smokey but the flies were a serious turn off. The mediocre- The beef in the Philly was completely unseasoned. It was almost tasteless. The veggies might have been nice except there were almost none. It was a hot sandwich lacking anything remotely related to flavor.
As an aside- pretty sure this place has the smallest bathroom of any establishment in Abilene. I lived in a 19 ft RV for years, had more room. My grandparents still had a functioning outhouse- more spacious. Hell, can-doo can drop off something bigger,...
Read moreWent to Texas Flaming Grill on Ambler for lunch. My grandson got a bacon cheeseburger and liked it soo much he said this place needs help so people can find them. He emptied his pockets into the tip jar before he told us. My friend got regular cheeseburger and said it was delicious. I got the cheese steak combo and it was amazing. The staff all were very sweet and I'd give them ten points if it'd let me. The order taker asked how they wanted their burgers cooked, and they got what they asked for, very impressed because it was the first time eating a burger they'd ever been asked. Substituted tater tots for myself and my friend and the grease was clean no taste of grease at all a rarity. My grandson got fries and even though he rarely eats fries he ate them all, a testament on how good they were. The buns were fresh and lightly toasted. We will be...
