We visited on a Sunday evening (around 5:30) and had a party of 2. We ordered no appetizers and only ordered entrees. I wanted to give 5 starts here, but I just couldn’t and I’ll try to be as gracious as possible. The food wasn’t bad; in actuality I’d probably visit here again just to eat because the bread was delicious and reminded me of Carino’s with their oil dip, something you don’t find everywhere. The amount of chicken I also received as an add on to my alfredo was sufficient. Most places give you a couple strips and call it good. Overall the food itself was pretty good. My main issue came when we were nearly done/finished. Our server basically abandoned us. I realize business picked up a little, so I didn’t mind waiting a few minutes to be checked on. But over 20 minutes with no communication? We were just waiting on our check. At that point we needed refills but no luck. Another table near us with a party of 2 also seemed to receive this same treatment. We were nearly at the point of getting up, walking to the front, and opening the door to set off the doorbell chime to get someone’s attention but we didn’t have to. I will say for her part, she did give us a slight discount for the wait and apologized. She also attempted to give us a free serving of dessert but neither of us wanted it/could eat it so we declined .However, please let this be a learning experience: communicate with your guests. I don’t think I would’ve been peeved if she had just acknowledged us and let us know she was busy. She waited on one other larger table and I guess they were more important. I couldn’t see if she waited on others. Just be prepared if you get a particular server you’ll have to wait. Not a great first experience for...

I'd been looking for a Stromboli that I remember from years ago . I saw that Luigis had one. I arrived at about 530 pm, and as you'll see, there was little business. I asked the waiter about the Stromboli. His answer prompted me to order one. As I've said before, I'm not a "Foodie ." The rolls were OK, but I didn't "get" the bowl of olive oil with spices. My order arrived in a timely fashion. As you can see,the Stromboli looks very good and looks did not disappoint!!! The crust was baked to perfection. The ingredients were well cooked. The side of marinara was quite tasty. If I weren't hungry, this meal would have served two. I guess my my only complaint would be the price. With a tip, it was just over $20. All in all, it was a good experience and I'll be back! I don't know if you'll read and see ! I came back for the same meal after 3 weeks. I'm sad to say I was disappointed and confused. If you will look at the pictures, you'll see why. It had to have been a different cook. It was still tasty but the distribution of "stuffings" is obvious. The first was not scorched. Notice the difference in "scraps". Now confusion. The first bill was nearly $21 with tip. I don't think I added anything but I didn't keep the receipt. The second, with a decent tip, was $3.29 less! There's probably an...

My husband and I were looking for a sit down dinner open on a Sunday afternoon in Abilene on our long trip home. Italian food is our favorite and Little Italy's did not disappoint. We had the Caprese appetizer. The mozzarella was seasoned well. There could have been more basil and less spinach, but it was good. I had the Veal Cremora, with the mushrooms and Brandy cream sauce. The sauce was under seasoned but a few shakes of salt and pepper brought the meal into proper balance. The veal was slightly overcooked for my personal preference but it was not tough. I would order it again. My husband ordered the Baked Pasta Sampler. The marinara sauce was fresh and light, but also under seasoned. We noticed the manicotti and the ziti were handmade and well prepared. Both dishes came with salad. My husband chose the house dressing, a tomato basil vinaigrette which he really liked. I ordered the Greek salad, which came with an upcharge. The atmosphere was pleasant, family friendly but romantic. Our server was cheerful, checked on us frequently, and did the business proud by suggesting we order dessert to go. We will have to return for some cannolis and limoncello cake. Overall, we had a good experience and will likely return when we pass through...

Context: I am in Abilene for a conference. I come a few times a year. I ordered soup and salad, Caesar and minestrone, with a side of meatballs and marinara. What I liked: They are playing the music my DeSanto grandparents listened to at home… Dean Martin “That’s Amore”, nat King Cole’s “Mona Lisa.” So that, along with the old school low lighting and booths, made the atmosphere enjoyable to me. The service was good. No complaints. The value was good. I got a filling meal at a good price. Nothing about the food was offensive or unacceptable. What I didn’t like: The food was 3 out of 5. I ordered meatballs were ok, but the marinara was cold. The minestrone soup was ok, but the vegetables and noodles were mushy… didn’t seem like it was made in the last day or two. The Caesar salad was ok. But the dressing tasted like a mass produced food service product. Again, not horrible, but with a little more attention to quality, it could be great. If this were Dallas, the expectations would be higher and I would have rated three stars instead of four. But context is important. Pros: Atmosphere Service Value Cons: Middle of the pack food.

My wife and I decided to give this place a try one night and we enjoyed it quite a bit. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the chicken rollatini. Each table also comes with some lovely bread served with Italian seasoned olive oil. That was very good. Meals also come with soup or salad. I got the creamy mushroom and it was by far the best, and closest to Polish mushroom soup I’ve had in many years. Can’t recommend it enough. Chicken in the rollatini was amazing, noodles were a touch over cooked but flavor was great. My wife’s lasagna wasn’t that great and we wouldn’t order that again. We came back again a week later and ordered some different things and were more impressed than before. I personally overdid it on cream based items and should’ve gotten a meat/ red sauce. Atmosphere is very nice and Ana was our waitress both times. She was very polite, helpful, and attentive. Try and get seated in her section if you want good service. Overall my wife and I really like this place. Good food, service, portions, and prices.
