Breakers Sports Bar — Restaurant in Abilene

2 stars for the pool tables. I believe they have the most in town plus they're ok maintained and the price to play is.. somewhat reasonable. Younger crowd. Its large inside with lots of TVs. They do have other games like darts and shuffleboard, but its not clean bathrooms especially. The games are what keeps the place alive bc it sure ain't the music or the bartenders. Music is all over the place and service is slow and rude. Never had a friendly bartender in here and they force you to stay with the same bartender all night. Plus the drinks suuuuucckk.. I tried a few different shooters (kamikaze, Vegas bomb, watermelon, pineapple upside down) before ordering a drink (long island) and they were ALL terrible. Weak (80-90% CHEAP mixer). I order the same drinks most places I go plus I occasionally make them myself at home so I know how they're supposed to taste. Worst drinks Ive had around town by far. Theres no break on pricing either. Never ordered food in here not even sure how. Haven't seen waitresses and I imagine the bartenders head would explode if I took any more than 10...

I went on a Thursday, the special on the website said “Crown and Down $3.50” maybe I’m wrong but I assumed that meant crown shots were 3.50 and any lesser whiskey shots would also be $3.50. I bought 3 shots, one for me and two of my friends but the bill rang up at $16.85. I asked the bar tender why the crown was so much since it was $3.50 crown and down Thursday, and she said “Oh that’s for mixed drinks like crown and coke.” I said oh how much crown is in a mixed drink of crown and coke and she said one shot of crown. I said how come the website said crown and down was 3.50 if it’s the same amount and your charging me $6.00 a shot? She said $3.50 crown shots would promote drunkenness.

I ordered 1 round of crown only because the website said there was a special and I got charged double what they promoted. If your gonna say that a special is a price then you need to explain that it only applies to mixed drinks because that’s misleading.

Definitely a place to take a group of friends to. Lines at the bar are long, but have their short moments, of which you could walk right up and get a drink with no wait there is food there, reasonable priced and portioned, though the chicken wings are not the best, I love their cheesy bites, and parmasan fries. Btw, it is cheaper to buy the pitcher of beer, which holds about 3 beers sworth, than by the bottle. Unlike Guitars & Cadillacs, the music actually at a reasonable volume. And they got a fine of TVs. They have a lot of pool tables, shuffle board, giant beer pong, 3 dart boards, about 3 to 5 ish arcade games, and anout door section for smoking. Oh yeah no smoking NOR camping inside, only outside. Under 21 kiddos, i believe, can go in but must show I.D. and get the big old X's on the hands. Overall, great place to hang out. There's also a pool tournament that is hosted here, but idk much about it :/ Have fun Everyone and drink...
