Taco Casa — Restaurant in Abilene

My son-in-law and I went to this location. We have been there tons of times. We ordered $88 worth of food in the drive-thru. We got to the window and my son-in-law's debit card was declined. The clerk said it was declined so we gave him a second debit card and that was also declined. Again, the clerk said the card was declined. I gave him my debit card and it was also declined. The clerk just stood there saying all your cards had declined. We asked if he could run it through another terminal and he said no it was not possible. He continued to stand there and ask for $88 in cash. We didn't have $88 in cash. We told him that we were going to have to leave without the food. He just kept standing there and asking for cash. I have never had this happen before. It was obviously something wrong with their system or their terminal or this gentleman just wanted cash. BTW there is money in all the accounts. When we looked at all of our checking accounts, there was absolutely no hit on any of our checking accounts that indicated there were any declined charges. Does make me wonder if this gentleman wasn't asking for cash for a sketchy reason. I will never go back here nor will I ever eat at another Taco Casa again....

It was great service and I met someone on drive through today the young man had the same first and last name as me he was very kind made me feel very welcomed it was busy And I was at the window and he asked me my name and that’s how we got to know we had the same name and I guess he felt that I was down As if he felt my pain because I hide my emotions to the highest abilities so he asked “why so down today” and I replied “oh nothing much” and then he replied with “ that’s understandable sir but i don’t know if anyone has told you lately but I’m proud of you and keep fighting and it will all pay off” it was a really bad day for me little did he know that I’m a single dad of 3 doing the best I can and it gets hard but I love my daughters and that little act of kindness and joy made it a little better and perhaps saved me.... he is a child of god and my angel that day most people won’t see this but keep up the good working and hire more employees like him and watch your...

My long but informative review to point you to good eating. No comparison to Rosa's food right down the road. This is more like Taco Bell food besides this is real meat not paste. Also, too much salt, especially in the Chilada. Chili Burgers were better than expected. Tacos could be good but the shells just don't taste fresh. The food is lower quality than Rosa's. They have decent service during the daytime when I've visited. Some employees go above and beyond, but others just seem to be there because they have to be and don't seem overly helpful nor glad to provide service. Worst food related issue: Yucky taco sauce in packet(Allsups is better). How about some fresh quality sauce. Not a value compared to Rosa's either. This place is a la cart style menu. Do the math. My recommendations: Fast & Value Mexican - Rosa's (highest quality fast food I've ever eaten) / Quality Dine-In Mexican - Abuelo's (Chain) or Los Arcos (Authentic)...
