We decided to have Christmas Eve dinner at China Wok. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance for 6pm. Most of the party arrived at 5:30pm. We were seated at 6pm but a server didn't arrive with our water until 6:20pm. When the server came I asked for a few wine glasses but they never came. We improvised by using the water glasses. We waited until about 7pm for them to take our order. It was 745ish when the dinner started coming out piece by piece. Other party's ordered the same exact thing after us but they started serving us at the same time. We had to ask the server to take our drink orders and refills were never offered. We didn't leave until 8:30pm. Scores are usually based on 4 categories but the overall score does not reflect the actual experience and for that reason I downgraded the overall score from a 3 to a 2. If you're going to eat because you're hungry this is not the place for you unless you bring your own food. The wait time and service are absolutely terrible! I will never return. Best of luck China Wok!
Service 1 Ambiance 4 Cleanliness...
Read moreLet’s start with the big, important difference here; this is not a Chinese take-out spot, it’s a Chinese American restaurant. It has nice decor inside and is well done on the outside; the upkeep is obvious and the place is super clean. I stopped here to get take out without realizing how nice the place looked and will come back to dine.
As far as the food, we got egg rolls and Mongolian beef; the homemade dipping sauce was fantastic for the egg rolls and the Mongolian beef was incredibly tender. Definitely a little heavy on the onions portion for the Mongolian beef and a little skimpy on the beef.
Price would be the only thing someone could complain about, but like I said it’s a restaurant and not a takeout joint, so the price really does make sense. It was 26 bucks for an order of Mongolian beef and 2 egg rolls
Hidden gem off to the side...
Read moreA cozy restaurant with a touch of elegance. Perfect for a family gathering or for a date outing. It looks like it has sectioned off areas for large parties. My family of five with mixed age of kids all enjoyed the booth seating. The kids complimented the food - especially the fried squids, the lemon pepper shrimps, the fish and tofu. Meanwhile my husband complimented the the dishes that were more authentic to his traditional Chinese taste- especially the spicy diced chicken with chili peppers, the twice cooked pork belly, and the stir fried egg plants. The three servers we had were very attentive and polite. Overall a tasteful, pleasant experience. Will certainly return often with friends...
