Absolutely beautiful community. I went here with my mom for a crafts and food fair they were hosting. The space was packed with beautifully handmade garments, jewelry, challah bread, and honey (lots of honey). Although we didn’t understand the words that were being said, we could understand the mood of the room. From the open body language to the smiles on countless faces, it was a very enjoyable place to be. We ended up trying some food they were making. The kitchen there was full of husbands while the wives sold the food. It was lovely to see this partnership between families and how comfortable everyone was with one another. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Coming from polish descendants, the varenyky was an absolute must to try. The potato pilatsky was my favorite though. Just the perfect amount of salt and butter in both. The homemade sour cream was just the perfect icing on top. While we were eating outside, near the courtyard, the place suddenly went quiet. The loud crowd of kids and teenagers playing and adult talking was in abrupt silence as the crowd parted to either side of the courtyard. A single lady in the middle of the courtyard started the crowd into song, a song we believed to be the national anthem (not sure). There is no way to really describe the emotions that were coursing through me as I watched the scene. It was just absolutely tear jerking. We had a lovely experience here. It was nostalgic to hear the heavy accents that sound similar to my grandmother’s polish accent. Delicious food and even better atmosphere.

This is a grand ballroom at a really reasonable price! my daughter’s wedding was great and tons of fun with the large dancing area. Staff is friendly and helpful although it does help to know a little Ukrainian. You can bring in your own caterer as well. Other events held here whether the Ukrainian dance school or Christmas bazaar are well run. Delicious pierogis available too!

My son is attending the "Svitlychka" daycare@UEC . I can't help, but praise the management and teachers. Excellent communication - timely, accurate and to the point. Clean, warm facilities. Healthy, fresh on-site cooked (not warmed up!) food. Reasonable prices and great hours for professional parents as myself. Management is on-site and almost 24h available. Teachers are approachable and provide immediate feedback in addition to the schedule parent-teacher conferences. We have been thru several day-cares over the past 5 years ( i have an older daughter ) and so far this one...
