This is my first restaurant review. Iām only writing this because my experience was somewhat traumatizing, Iām still upset, and do not want this to happen to another family. My husband and I were excited to try this place, Iād been suggesting it for weeks. We came in about 640 with our 8 month old. They told us we would have to wait 40 mins for overflow or till 8 o clock since we didnāt make a reservation, which we did not think to do due to it being Monday night. We said we would wait. In the sushi section there were only 4 active tables. We kept a positive attitude even though we were starving and the waiting area is by the front door and we froze anytime someone opened it. We finally were able to be seated around 740 or so in an empty hibachi space without the chef, which was explained earlier and we were fine since we just came for sushi. We immediately ordered the super volcano roll and rice and explained we had been waiting and were starving and wanted to go ahead and put that in while we looked over the menu. The rice comes out immediately. When you spend your whole dining experience looking around for your food itās just not good business for anyone. About 25 mins has passed I sent my husband to see whatās going on with our first roll we ordered (we ordered about 4 more 10 mins or so after that one, again starving) our server who was great said he dropped it first thing. My husband came back and another while goes by I get up and ask about it our server said the same thing. As Iām coming back I see the roll literally smothered in a sauce, drenched, I didnāt care bc I was just happy to have something to eat. Another 15 mins goes by I get up to see if our other rolls are coming, we are approaching 830 at this point. I get told by 3 different employees food is taking an HOUR bc of to go orders...why werenāt we told that? Also, I was told in away as if I should know that? Where is that acceptable? At this point Iām in tears my baby is fussy we basically waited 2 hours to eat some fried rice and a roll drenched in sauce. So now Iām just upset and I feel just horribly mistreated. I ask our server to please cancel our food I just want to leave he seemed a little shocked but understood. I said at this point itās the principle I told the server that I understand this isnāt his fault and Iām sorry. I paid for our ticket and walked back to the table as they are bringing out our sushi (which seemed like half portions). I told my husband we just need to leave that I already paid for the food we ate. At this point Iām full blown in tears I canāt get over an hour wait for food? I felt awful my husband worked a long day and I thought this would be a nice dinner. We ended up going to chick fil a. The only reason Iām writing this is because I truly do not want this to happen to someone else, it just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI decided here for my dinner to celebrate my newborn baby with a small group of family because i thought it would be a nice dinner option for everyone and i feel horrible i did.. food was subpar and so was the atmosphere. The tables/ furniture is worn and scratched up the curtains on the windows look 10 years old so you certainly aren't paying for the ambience⦠they charged over $91 for 2 chicken hibachi plate with fried rice and steamed vegetables 3 fountain drinks and 1 california roll ( that might i add were warm ā¹ļøpretty sure sushi should be served chilled) ill add the portion size is small for the price they charge for hibachi⦠i don't eat out much and when i do iām reminded why i donāt⦠also the fountain drinks are $4.50 and my waiter literally stood across and watched as the cook prepared food and saw my cup was empty. I didnt get one refill š for almost $5 for a sprite i wouldāve expected a refill. Immediately after the cook finished a guy came out and sprayed chemical all over the grill and started cleaning the grill⦠we had literally all just been served our food i thought it was odd they had to clean immediately like that since they werent busy and there was empty tables/ grills that were clean ready to go if others walked in⦠then as the guy is cleaning here comes the waiter with to go boxes handing them out as we literally are eating š ive never felt bum rushed out of restaurant before like this .. i mean we were all looking at each other confused. Mind you its 7:30pm and they close at 10:30 so we didnt come close to closing time or anything it was just rushed⦠then he walks off to the computer screen infront of us and prints off seperate checks it was 7 of us but we all had seperate checks so the whole automatic gratuity thing rubbed me the wrong way because what would be the difference if you sat random groups of ppl together. But because we are family paying separate tabs we are automatically charhed gratuity..I could see if we were all on the same check but we were not! It was 3 parties of 2 and party of 1 I gave the guy who bum rush served us and didn't even refill drinks not once almost a $14 tip that he really didn't deserve at all š he was so busy trying to get us out he brought to go boxes while we had just started eating but never came back to even offer to go bags to put our food in š« some other guy was kind enough to get them for everyone. Just really poor service as well as very pricey for small portions of food that isnāt flavorful or wow in any way! I...

I had an awful experience š. We ordered a Shrimp Tempura App, Edamame, Crab Rangoon, 2 Chicken Vegetable Hibachi Fried Rice, 2 Super Volcano Rolls, and a Shrimp Tempura Roll and Smoked Salmon Bagel Roll that we canceled because my wife thought it was supposed to be a cooked roll. She ordered the Smoked Salmon Bageroll off of the cooked sushi portion of the menu. So we thought. I went to use the bathroom after being seated for 20 minutes. On my way back to my seat I noticed my Super Volcano Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll plated and sitting at the end of a counter at the bar. At the end of the bar counter are quite a few patrons hovering over my plate waiting to be seated. From there I sat for another 5 minutes before my wife mentioned it to our waitress. After we notified our waitress that our plate was sitting at the end of the counter she walked over to our plate looked at it and did nothing. My wife then walked over to whom we assumed was the manager and told her the situation. Our plate was brought over to us right away. Unfortunately, I didn't want a plate of sushi that was sitting on the end of a counter for 15 minutes with patrons hovering over it waiting to be seated. At that very moment, we should've canceled our order and walked out. The vibe completely changed and now we look like hagglers. Not to mention it seems as though their customer service isn't geared towards serving Indigenous/Black customers. We asked them to make us a fresh plate and they did. When the plate arrived we began to eat the Super Volcano Roll. After a few pieces, I bit into a piece that had the taste of RANCID SPOILED SALMON. I was utterly disgusted š. I gagged 𤢠and almost vomited š¤®. I spit it out into a napkin and was ready to leave. I hope I wasn't food-poisoned. My family finished what we could of our meal. I asked the waitress for the check, paid the $100 plus bill, tipped, and left without a fuss. We paid $100 plus for a horrible experience. I don't look forward to ever returning to Volcano Sushi. Volcano Sushi has...
