RibCrib BBQ — Restaurant in Ada

We took our two grandchildren (ages 4 and 6), and only one was willing to eat lol My husband ordered the three-meat combo and I had the Brisket and Bird. I thought it was good, but the portions seemed a bit stingy (and the brisket was a bit dry and crumbly). Two things to know about the Brisket & Bird: 1) You can request the brisket to be sliced instead of chopped, and 2) The sides are not negotiable. Fries and corn. That's it. I didn't realize that when I ordered. It was after the waiter left that I realized that he hadn't asked which sides I wanted, so we waved him back, and he yelled "Corn and fries, no substitutions" on his way to the other side of the room. So $12.99 for a small portion of decent chicken and dry brisket with two sides that you don't want. My grandson's sliders were well-received. He scarfed them right down... but refused to eat his mac & cheese. I tasted it, and it was basically terrible (no flavor, weird texture, etc), so I couldn't blame him for spitting it out. Our waiter was a really good guy. Just.... not a good waiter. At least, not that night. Hopefully it was just an off night, and everything...

Stopped in for an early dinner and was waited on by a beautiful young lady named Ginger. She was an awesome server, had a great attitude and a kind personality. Ginger got my order perfect and the food was really good. As I was finishing up, a cook from the back brought out a dessert with ice cream for a nearby table. The customer had ordered the dessert without the ice cream. The cook apologized and as he headed back he offered me the dessert. I accepted. After I finished, I paid my bill and noticed the dessert was not on my bill. When I asked about the item I was assured there was no charge. The dessert was made all the sweeter. Other than it taking about 5 minutes for the server to come over and greet me and take a drink order, the remaining experience was spot on tops. The server got my drink to me quickly, took my food order, had it out shortly (the order was for 3 bones sticky rib dinner with potatoes and okra so food was ready to serve as soon as it was dished up, which I questioned a little since it takes time to fry up the okra), and she brought over a fresh drink (even though I didn't need it). Food was outstanding with only the exception of how fast it came out when the okra should have been crispy from being deep frying instead of being a bit soggy. Overall, really good food with the exception of the okra and the staff could communicate better, because it seemed as though the server did not know I was there during my 5 minute wait after...
