Blue Moon Cafe — Restaurant in Ada

I ordered through doordash I got chicken tender dinner the brown beans have no seasoning taste the mashed potatoes even taste off normally I don't have to add anything to the beans I did this time the real reasoning for this post my fried green tomatoes, fried zucchini and mushrooms was over cooked I could taste the burnt taste. I spent a lot of money on the order today. I am always happy with BlueMoon Cafe but there's a first time for everything. Doordash only gives 5.00 dollars back on burnt food and sometimes nothing at all. I have the picture to show it's burnt also they for get a salad dressing or something and didn't serve me for a few months cause I would report it to doordash what was missing the last time the lady said a manger made my order will guess what something still was missing. They finally accepted my order today and still after few months the salad dressing was missing for my dinner salad I didn't report it this time cause I actually like Bluemoon Cafe but my goodness can I get the salad dressing for my salad or my dipping sauce for my chicken. Today is Aug 30 2025 BlueMoon Cafe accept my order today yet called me to tell me they was out of fried green tomatoes and that I was told not to order from them all because THEY keep for getting something in the order hello doordash is over priced and it's the only way I have to order anything so yes if you forget something I'll report it and now I can't order cause you mess up BlueMoon Cafe that's wild. Okay my order just got here Aug 30 2025 both drinks are missing and the extra gravy I eas charged for and this was after I received a phone call from a lady at BlueMoon Cafe and items are still missing yet you won't take me orders no more hell the mess ups your doing you not deserve my money and once again it's through doordash over priced but it's the only way I have to eat or get groceries same on you...

This place has a very fun diner style decor. Its family run so I thought this would be an excellent place to try outside the normal food chains around on my travels. I walk in and i'm greeted by a very nice hostess. She took my drink order immediately and shortly after the waitress came to my table (within a minute) to ask if I had my drink order taken already. I was very impressed with the speed of service and how nice everyone was.

I asked if the wings were breaded and the waitress told me they were not. I also chose to order the Sante Fe chicken.

When the wings arrived I was very dissapointed. They were breaded but also very hot. Just out of the deep fryer I would assume. I let them cool down before taking a bite into it. When I actually got a bite into it it was frozen in the middle! I decided that I wasn't going to eat the chicken and just pushed it off to the side. The waitress came back to bring me my dinner. She was very observant and saw that I had only touched a half a wing on my plate and asked if I was not satisifed. I told her I wasn't and before I got into telling her why she said she' d take it off my bill.

Moving onto the dinner platter. The portion size of this chicken breast was very small. The cheese that they used tasted like a white american cheese craft single. The black eyed peas tasted like... well earth. They were horrible!

To say the least I was very unimpressed with the food.

I see all these positive reviews and think that maybe I should give them another chance; however, I left with a stomach ache and that's enough for me not to want to come back.

To the owners, your staff is superb. Your decor is fun and inviting. Revise your menu items and perhaps invest in a bit more in higher...

This was my first time in Ada, so I purposely tried to find a local diner vice a chain and came across Blue Moon Cafe. Great space that's very creatively decorated with classic 50s paraphernalia and down home country furnishings. It has a very nice vibe when you walk in. Unfortunately, the food and the service was lacking, for me. My server didn't seem like she wanted to be there, but she was very efficient in taking and delivering my order, checking on me, and asking if I wanted dessert. Her very "blah" demeanor was off-putting, so I really didn't enjoy my meal - maybe a little smile would've helped, particularly because I was all smiles and friendly to her. And I hate to say it, but my meal was disappointing and substandard. My appetizer fries had bacon bits, but I had to taste it a couple times to remind me it had some flavor. How is bacon ever not memorable?! My pork chops were dry and the mashed potatoes and gravy were bland. The cafe started filling up with customers as I finished my meal and walked out, so I guess it's a popular place. The friendliest staff person was the cashier - she smiled, asked me how I was doing, hope I enjoyed my meal, thanked me for coming by, and wished me a great evening! She was awesome!
