Character's Famous BBQ — Restaurant in Adairsville

This place is absolutely amazing. You can smell the scent of smoking meat as soon as you get out of your car. We were greated very warmly when we stepped through the front door. The restaurant reminded me of stepping into one of my uncle's house. The smooth music was playing, laughter could be heard while we were waiting on our food. And it felt like I was family there. Even with it being my first time stepping foot into the place. Now to the food. The ribs were amazingly tender. They had the perfect amount of smoke on them. The brisket was fork tender as well. It contained a beautiful smoke ring to show that he had been taken care of properly. The chopped chicken had the right balance of savory flavor accompanied by the light tingle of spice. The black pepper worked extremely well with the bbq sauce. And the pulled pork was tender and juicy as well. All of the plates come with two sides, bread, and pound cake. Order the three meats at your own risk, it is enough food to feed 2 people. The baked beans had a thick consistency and were full of meat and a hint of smoke flavor that brought it to the next level. The potato salad had a creamy consistency and it seemed as if it had some of the bbq rub on top of it. All in all, it was the last piece of the plate to bring everything together. If y'all are ever up in Adairsville, Georgia, y'all need to stop in at Character's BBQ!! I first found out about Michael's place when I started watching BBQ Pitmasters and BBQ Pit Wars. I started watching because I'm a huge fan of Myron Mixon, but quickly found a yearning to want to visit a lot of the different Pitmasters that were on the show. I became a huge fan of Michael's as well. We started out on our 40th Wedding Anniversary trip today and that was our first stop. Let me tell you...you have got to go and get some of his amazing food and meet him! He is the most genuine person and has an amazing attitude and his crew is as amazing as he is!! They are so welcoming!! We will most definitely be back for some of his delicious food! We got a chicken plate with baked beans and slaw. It came with bread a drink and a slice of pound cake. Also got a pork sandwich with chips. We were blessed with 2 ribs for our anniversary. OMG!!! Best ribs I've had!!!

Man you ant had BAR BQ tell you have had BAR BQ with a Character like this. The way you think its spicy and you reach for a drink only to realize the spiciness has been washed away not to be left with a lingering affect of spicy hotness still there. That's right the spicy hotness is gone leaving you wanting the next bite. If that ant a kick wait tell you see the size of the sandwich he gives you for the unimaginable price of only 6 bucks. Leaving your pockets to say "cha-ching money in the bank for later" more like tomorrow cause I couldn't eat it all and had to save it for later. WOW! GUYS AND GALS!
