I am sharing this review on behalf of my mom who experienced the best service, tastiest hamburgers and freshly baked Lemon Blueberry Scones. She and her friends play cards every Saturday, most times after playing they go out for dinner; they have tried the location in Itasca for breakfast before cards, but they wanted to check them out afterwards for a burger. They called ahead to see what time they were closing; the person who answered said they were getting ready to close but offered to stay open to make some burgers for them, they placed their order ahead of time so not to keep the staff stay open any longer, when they arrived the burgers were coming off the grill. She commented how the burger was just the right size (she is not a fan of thick burgers), her friend asks if they had any Lemon Blueberry Scones available; they did not but had some scones prepared for baking in the morning and decided to bake off some for them as well. My mom purchased three! I believe the one who serviced them was one of the partners, she invited them to come play large enough to seat the teams and decks of cards nicely. Service like this goes way above and beyond the norm these days, she said she was going to tell her friends about this experience and are plan on meeting there for breakfast before playing cards next week. In this day and time, it is nice to see others care for our seniors with care and respect. It will go a long way... So, if you have never tried Joe Donut in Itasca for their cake donuts, or breakfast or even the hamburgers for lunch - this reviewer would recommend you do so... you will not be disappointed; especially when it comes to their service. Thank you, Joe Donut Itasca, for staying open for some hungry seniors and accommodating them and making them feel welcomed, she was so excited to tell us about her experience; I wanted to share...

While traveling for business and staying in Itasca, I did a quick Google search for a solid breakfast spot. A few options popped up, but one name stood out—Joe’s Donuts. What caught me off guard was its location: tucked inside a gas station. I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. But once inside, the atmosphere was surprisingly warm and welcoming.
I ordered the Cowboy Breakfast: two eggs over medium, breakfast potatoes, and pancakes (you can choose between pancakes or a biscuit). All of that for under $10—an absolute steal. You can also add sides like bacon or sausage for under $4.50, if I remember correctly. I also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice.
🌟 The standout? The breakfast potatoes. Hands down, the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had—and I’ve had my fair share across the country. I even went back to compliment the chef and learned they’re made from scratch. You can taste the care and craft in every bite. Phenomenal.
🍩 Don’t skip the donuts. I tried the red velvet donut with cream cheese frosting, and it was next-level delicious. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
The place has seating, so it’s great for families or anyone looking to dine in. The staff and chef were incredibly friendly and gracious, which made the experience even better.
👍 Highly recommend. Joe’s Donuts is a hidden treasure worth discovering. Don’t let the gas station setting fool you—this place delivers big on flavor and...

The pistachio donut was perfect - not too sweet and a little savory with pistachio pieces on top. The Reese’s donut was devoured by our 8 year old - not dry at all and great PB flavor.
I got the “Fun Guy” and omg. My husband and I split it. Big homemade biscuit, cheese curds, avocado, egg, and 2 turkey patty sausages w chipotle mayo. Chef’s kiss.
My 8 yo got the chicken fingers - hand breaded upon ordering - super tender and juicy. Breading was delicious. They just fell apart. The portion was huge (the 2 piece was enough for him and my husband to share while I also tried it). It came with a big ol portion of fries and a huge biscuit with honey butter and jam.
I got a honey cinnamon iced coffee drink and again - just right. Not too sweet - just enough flavor.
The service was on point. The sweetest women were working the counter and making the coffees.
We will definitely be back. Don’t let the unassuming location throw you off.
Everyone at the tables around us were raving about their...
