Murphy's Pub — Restaurant in Agawam

UPDATED REVIEW!!! I just want to compliment the staff and owner for reaching out to me about my review! Apologies and a discussion go a long way with me!! Thank you so much for recognizing my concerns! Murphy's is my go to place!! The fact that my issues were acknowledged shows that ownership cares! Now time for a beer, Keno, and some good food!!!

I am disappointed to post this review. But, it had to happen. This is my 3rd time In 3 weeks that I have had less than stellar service. I love hazy IPA's. 3 weeks ago I was recommended a new one. Absolutely loved it. Ate dinner and 4 beers later got the bill. $14/beer! Seriously! No warning....no heads up! Yikes! Last week...service was just ok. Missed a few Keno draws, but it was busy. Today....20 people at the bar. 2 tenders. 20 minutes before I was even recognized. Finally, got my Keno and got me a beer (not the $14 one!). No menu. 2nd beer, no menu.... no "would you like to order?" I miss my guy bartender. This place has good food.... but some of the female staff need to recognize that women tip good too!!! Time to find a new regular place to go. Sad. In response to Murphys's owner. Thank you for your response! I sincerely appreciate that. The Face Plant beers were epic!!! I just wish I had a heads up. Service has been spotty for weeks now. I miss several former bartenders and servers. I know it's a tough time now. I'll take a break and give Murphys's a try again! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Tonight was a horrible experience at this bar "Murphy's Pub!" Here's the sequence of events:

Me (a decorated US Marine Veteran of War who was previously stationed in Ireland) and my friends (town fire fighter's and cops) were having a great time listening to the bagpipe's player wale on the bagpipes. I signaled to an older male (tall white guy, slick back brown hair, brown mustache) that me and my crew where ready to order drinks. He became hostile and said "I don't need you to signal me...that's the way to not get service!" I looked at him quizzical and said "I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" He replied.. "I see you..there's a lot of people here!" I said "ok..umm I'm sorry.. I don't know what I did to upset you but no worries." After my team witnessed what happened they signaled to me that they were ready to leave.

I don't understand what made the bartender so upset so before I left I made it a mission to talk to him and let him know that I didn't understand why he was so mad. He apologized and I let him know we were leaving due to the circumstances that had taken place.

Wanted to edit this to say we came back and Cassidy is WONDERFUL! Protect her at all cost! She is a rarity of kindness in that industry. She is quick and kind and just has a beautiful personality.

Came for a few drinks after dinner to watch a little Yankees and Bruins. The bartenders, Sarah and Andrew were amazing! Excellent customer service, phenomenal drinks, and they made sure the TV with the hated Yankees stayed on the channel despite others trying to turn it off. It was the only TV we could see from our seats at the bar. Sarah and Andrew really made our experience since we didn't even have the room for anymore food.
