Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Aiken County

I went there today with my wife. I guess everyone has a bad day and we got the brunt of it. The salsa was bland, and even though we found a hair like item in the salsa, all we did was request a new bowl of salsa. After a few minutes they were gracious enough to bring back the first bowl and show us that what we found in the salsa was not a hair. They were even nice enough to wipe it in the table in front of us to prove it. They seemed somewhat taken aback that we still wanted another 2 oz bowl of salsa, and they finally brought it out. I had what was supposed to be a quesadilla con carne and it was more like a crunchy taco. It consisted of some cheese, unseasoned beef and a toasted and folded tortilla. I thought a quesadilla was two tortillas with salsa, cheese and beef and flat. This was a a bland crunchy taco. My wife requested Huevos rancheros and it was neither. the eggs were hard and rubbery, so much so they were tough to cut with a knife. When asked why the eggs were not over easy as requested, they look at us like we asked for their first born child. After a few minutes of going back and forth with them about the eggs , they reluctantly agreed to redo them. after 10 minutes we gave up paid our $20 check and left. Hate to give it a -0 we went in today for lunch ordered a simple avocado chicken salad, first I had to turn my plate to the side to remove water that was left on the plate which made the lettuce very soggy tried to eat some of it but I just couldn’t I sent it back explain to the waitress about the water and showed her the water I removed , her explanation was that the lettuce is kept on ice that’s why. Well it made a soggy mess of my food and when I called because I heard the chef I’d that’s what he is, say well she ate most of it which wasn’t true that just made me upset I think it’s important to educate your waitress she seems to think that soggy salad it’s ok to serve if she likes to eat it that way , well that doesn’t say much for her pallet. The sad thing is that I paid for the soggy mess and though I have reason to stop payment on my dish I didn’t it’s not the type of person I am, you would think it would have been handled differently. I should just stick to finer restaurants we just miss eating good Mexican food and thought this was it. My mistake we will not...

I went here after being recommended by a friend. When I first got there I waited about five minutes to order when there were literally 3 groups there. Being new to the restaurant I asked the waiter what he recommends. His exact words were "I've only been here a week and I haven't tried the food." Not a problem. Then I asked "what combos do you have for the chilli relenos?" And yet again he didn't know. So I began to order to the waiter as he made up drinks for another table, but in the middle of my order he went to go serve the drinks to another table. When I finally got the chance, I ordered approximately 4 meals to go. I got home and my father (a vegetarian) began to chow down on his "chilli relenos," but was horrified to discover it was just beef and cheese. No sauce or chilis or corn toritilla, nothing but greesy beef and cheese. In addition two meals were supposed to come with rice and beans, only one did.
