Remember when Buffalo Wild Wings was cool in high school? Ok that’s Ray’s! The worst popular bar in Akron. I still can’t figure out why people come here. CHAIN SPORTS BAR EXTREME with a dash of piss on the floor and local ownership mismanagement. Honestly I have mad love for small business but not Ray’s the restrooms are absolute trash (the bar is only couple years old yet toilets+stalls are completely broken and hand air dryer is almost completely rusted- not sure how that even happens) Whether your there for lunch or a Friday late-night drink, you can expect very dirty, unkept atmosphere, drinks poured from dirty beer lines, and I guess they serve “Chicago Style” hot dogs here. I would steer clear of anything that requires cooking coming from this place’s “kitchen”. Everyone from Akron knows someone who never made it out of highland square and became an adult. This bar has gone so down hill in the last 4 years, this has become the most hood bar in Akron. Some girl claiming to be rays “daughter” was the most rude stuck up ghetto girl I’ve ever met. I will not be coming back ever. If you’re a college student avoid this place at all cost. This place is one of those Akron bars that you have to be patted down by security to get in. THIS PLACE IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND UNWELCOMING if you aren’t from the hood. ALL AKRON U STUDENTS AVOID THIS PLACE. So many more welcoming bars in highland square. Why go to the only bar in highland that has more intense security than a concert or a sports game, no clue how people feel safe here if they need that type of security...

I showed the larger-set female bartender the notifications in my capital one app that revealed I was charge $10 and then $20. She told me the $10 charge was a pre-authorization charge or something like that, and that it would go away the next day (which it did). That wasn’t the issue I was raising, however. She didn’t even notice how I was charged $20 for two beers. I asked “so the beers are $10 each?”, to which she responded, “no, you’re looking at $12 right now”.
