Taqueria El Paso — Restaurant in Akron

This was my first time hearing about this place. I met a friend here and she help me with ordering take out. The cashier (short 5-5 or 5-6, latina, medium complexion, dark hair in a ponytail, didn't see a name tag) took my order for a Fish Taco Salad. Told me 10 mins. Friends had ordered before me were told 20. When they go in to get their order, I ask them to see if mine os ready (less wait time remember). It wasn't. I waited several more mins in the my car and then I went in. The cashier apologized and said “…its coming!” I stood and waited. As I waited…5 orders they were NOT mine were bagged. Its hot…so I ask…”since its still being made and you told me 10 mins and thats long passed, can I get a cold drink on the house?” Cashier…confused look “its almost ready.” My response “it was supposed been ready, you said only 10 mins!” Cashier “ fish takes 15 mins” but its been over 25 mins by this time. Cashier blurts out “do you want you money back?” Then starts speaking Spanish. She then tells me, my order is the 3rd to be made at this point. WTH?!? I decide to take my money and leave. Worst attitude and I’ll never...

First time stopping in. I was impressed that they offered beef tongue streets style tacos and beef cheek street style tacos. Upon entering you grab a menu from the window and take a seat, once you decide your selection go back to the window and order take your seat and the servers brings your order, after eating go back to the window to pay. The downside of the tacos they were extremely greasy and served on a soft corn shell vs. a soft flour shell. The corn shell overpowered the taste of the entire dish. The street style taco was served with traditional diced onion, cilantro, and fresh lime on the side. The menu stated $9.00 for 3 street style tacos. However, when paying, you are upcharged $4.00 additionally for each taco because I had ordered the beef tongue and beef cheek (bate and switch). Nowhere does it say, nor are you informed of this before ordering. Be warned a small bottle of water is $4.00. Overall experience overpriced for greasy overpowering corn shell tacos flavor. I again I did appreciate the beef tongue and beef...

It's an unassuming building, the definition of a hole-in-the-wall place. The interior is small and vibrantly decorated.

The folks who work here are absolutely marvelous. Always pleasant and friendly, even when they have a line 15 deep.

The food is authentic and has a homemade feel to it. I'm slowly working my way through the menu to be able to say I've tried everything. Everything I have tried so far has been marvelous. The flavors and smells are wonderful. The price is more than fair for the quality and portion sizes provided. If I could eat here every day, I think I would.

The only negatives I can think of are that is is a very small location, so if you intend on eating there, availability of seating can be an issue. It's also a busy place, especially given the size. you may have to wait a little for your food. The food is absolutely worth the wait, every...
