Jessy Tacos & Tortas — Restaurant in Alabama

Had high hopes when I caught this building out of the corner of my eye while passing by. A clean and well presented establishment with a polite young child ringing up my order. Ordered 6 Pastor Tacos, Carnitas Torta and a Tamale. The tacos where some form of meat I didn’t order along with a bucket of grease in each taco slapped between two I’ll prepared tortillas. Which surprisingly were flavorless even with the amount of grease, onions, and cilantro. The Torta looked promising if you like a lettuce sandwich with a sliver of tomato and a spoonful of meat. I Took two bites and I literally had to pull the bun off and sift through the lettuce to find where they hid the meat. Typically a sandwich of this style would feed me for two meals. I have never eaten such a sad and skimpy version of this sandwich. The Tamale was a Tamale no complaints there. Maybe it was an off day but for the price, the lack of what came out and the tacos that broke my heart I would go elsewhere. Went in for lunch and Ordered a torta and a smoothie. The torta was below average at best. I received the smoothie after I finished the torta and reminding them twice. ( there were only 3 of us in the resturant) when I do get the smoothie, the cashier grabbed a straw without a wrapper from a dirty cup and proceeded to put it in my cup for me. Same guy that handles all the money with gloves without washing his hands. How are rubber gloves going to help when your Not changing them? I left the smoothie with them. Will never be back. One of the people that I was eating lunch with tried to warn me that the heath department shut them down in the past for failing...

I usually don’t do any bad reviews but there was a little kid as my waiter he was a little smart a** not the best costumer service, I get it he is a kid. The food was okay but do not do not drink the boba tea it’s not boba tea!! One more thing I saw a big rat in the corner going up the ceiling over the tv in the corner where they have the ice cream and drinks. Never ever again. Just wish I had pictures and I also saw a roach on the floor. Wanted to like it and support Latino own restaurant but I’m going to...
