I love Mrs. Margaret's bakery! I've been goin there for about four years now. Every year I get a close family member a cake (husband, kids, parents, sisters, etc.) I tell them my theme and it's always amazing! When my mother turnt 50 I asked them to make an old person survival kit cake. It had pills coming out a pill bottle, a handicap logo, a cane, dentures and so on. It was funny and cute. I usually have an idea for what type of cake but sometimes I dont. They sit down and put their heads together with you for ideas They also sell pastures, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls chicken salad etc. Chicken salad is good!!! They have whole cakes, and variety of sliced cakes to purchase. They are very professional, friendly and helpful. They also have books on cakes and other desserts they've made. I called inquiring about tasting the cake before purchasing for my baby shower. I was immediately met with one of the rudest encounters I’ve ever had. The man who answered the phone responded by telling me “We don’t do taste tests unless you have a bridal cake. Are you ordering a bridal cake?” He then proceeded to ask me why was I ordering a baby shower cake before a bridal cake and started randomly advocating for now deceased Kevin Samuels about how black women need to be held accountable for the role they play in single motherhood. Margaret’s Bakery baked COOKIES for my daughters graduation .. and the cookies were DELICIOUS, I mean they were really amazing! The middle of the cookies were chewy and the outside of the cookie had a slight crisp. The taste was so buttery, and light. And the cookies were decorated perfectly for the Alabama graduation. Margaret is great to work with as She will make you any shape, any color, and any theme, and she matched our cake that another bakery was doing with the cookies she baked.
