Wow, where do I start with The Spot 4°? It is a quaint little ice cream shop nuzzled in a small shopping area off of Rainbow Drive.. when they are actually open. Beware: if you want rolled ice cream, you HAVE to call prior to making a trip there. Myself, along with others I know, have made trips for the roll ice cream delicacy just for them to not be open.. might I add, with their refined COVID-19 hours. It is great to be open over the weekend, however I thought they were supposed to open on January 8th, 2021 after being closed since late November- early December? It is kinda dumbfounding to be closed over Christmas break when most everyone is off of work, kids are out of school, and people are out shopping. Now, COVID-19 has hit businesses hard, but it shouldnât be an excuse after excuse for your misconceptions. If you havenât been opened in sooo long, what are you guys doing with the financial reprieves in which come as relief packs due to COVID-19? Iâm starting to think you all have forgotten you own an ice cream business. These people, not exactly sure who is responding to reviews, but for every complaint or substandard review, there is a clap-back. No apologies for what they have done, if there was an error, etc. What a bad way to do business! There are key attributes you never do as a business. The customer may not always be correct, but they think they are in their reality. It is CRITICAL to never disagree with the customer, as this makes them angry and argumentative. Itâs not in anyoneâs best interest to call a customer out for being wrong, donât focus on the negative.. just like you people are doing. It is very important to establish interpersonal relationships by being business owners with your customers. However, the prices for ONE roll or milkshake are okay-ish, but you could still blow out an entire paycheck on a family outing for ice cream. They have clap-backed for their lack of hours claiming they do not have enough money to pay employees to stand around. Now, I may be wrong here, but I am pretty sure this is a family-owned, local business. The only people I have ever seen working are the owners and their daughter. So how does it account for âwe CANâT afford to pay employees to sit around all day everyday with no customers coming inâ? I think itâs the laziness of these business owners to not feel like running their business. From what it sounds like, business used to be booming. But they, over time, have significantly cut their hours more and more down, they do not engage the public (in Facebook posts) like they used to, they used to have specials & giveaways, and they were more prominent overall. I understand COVID-19 affects everyone differently (and while you might have had exposure,) it shouldnât be 2 months worth of not opening. Let me save everyone some time: there is no telling when this shop will open, if they ever open again. I have a hack to share with you guys! To save time AND money, simply google a rolled ice cream recipe. You are able to find countless recipes on Pinterest or by googling how to make it. You are to mix together, or blend, the add ins of your choice, mixed with heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. If you order any kind of special rolls from this place, be sure to note what all is in them. Pour the mixed up/ blended mixture out on a baking sheet and stick into the freezer for a few hours; from here, you can cut strips into the flattened, frozen mixture. You can then roll it up with a spatula. This is guaranteed to save you more time and money rather than dealing with unreliable, fickle small spot shop this one happens to be. I am ready for you to respond to me, you guys have nothing on me or the success I protrude. I hope you guys learn one day, how to build relationships with customers, how to be reliable in your words, and how to properly run a successful business before you guys...
Read moreLet me start by saying the PRICES ARE ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. No way a family of 4 much less 5 or more could come in and get a treat w/o spending $50 plus. Also the rolled ice cream is nothing but tastless frozen cream. I ordered the strawberry and they put ( I swear to it ) a half of 1 strawberry in the cream and chopped it up to where the cream would have a pink color to it. Its absolutely tasteless. They put MAYBE 3 or 4 oz of cream on the table and roll it and charge for some over 8 dollars. I think mine with the half strawberry and nuts was 9 dollars. My son ordered a rolled fruity pepple with strawberry pop tart and they put a half of a plastic TEASPOON of fruity pepples and maybe 1/4 of a pop tart in it. I understand a business has to make money as I own my own business as well. But I also know that u have to be fair and give customers what they paid for. This is almost like robbery. Lol. Seriously. I was in there when a dad let his 4 children order then his wife , then himself and the total was 78 dollars. That was him and his wife and 3 children. His jaw about hit the floor. I know mine did. So many other GREAT chooses that give MORE for your money and the prices are literally half of what this place charges. As far as the staff they are great. But not so great that i would choose to go here and spend MORE money than i would at another local...
Read moreThis place is amazing! They have the BEST milkshakes around. I live in Oxford and work in Rainbow City and my husband, daughter and I have been by here twice in the past 2 weeks. Lol. The staff=AWESOME! I watched the girl behind the counter single handedly take several orders and make them in a very timely manner. She was very knowledgeable about all of treats they have to offer and even offered to make something similar to what I wanted because they were out of some of the ingredients to make the item I had originally ordered. We always get the kid's size shakes and it is more than enough for me. The prices are reasonable to me, especially for what you are given in return. I would give them more stars if I could. Thank-you for giving us an opportunity to make summer memories with our 6 year old. She LOVES the grape milkshake. Keep up the good work! You...
