I am very sorry to say we will no longer order from Pine Garden Magic China, after last night's debacle. We ordered online at 5:09 PM, expecting delivery soon after 6 PM. By 6:25 PM, we had nothing, so my wife called in. They couldn't find the order at first, but then they did. He read back the order, confirmed all the details, and then asked, "What's up?" What's up? We don't have our order! About 20 minutes later, we did. The soups were so salty, we couldn't eat them. The main dishes were good, but our daughter found a shard of plastic in her Mei Fun! Horrible. Her boyfriend, who grew up in China, ordered chicken chow mein (mein means "noodle" in Chinese.) He was dismayed that there were no noodles. We received no fortune cookies, which come with every order. I think they were having a bad evening, but we won't be ordering any more.

I'm shocked at some of these reviews but let's consider the history here. Pine Garden used to be in the Waterford Lakes Plaza next to ZaZas by the movie theater. Magic China has been in the BJ's plaza off of Lake Underhill for quite some time. Apparently both restaurants merged. Not sure how long ago, possibly a year or so. With that said, they need a reset on the reviews. We have completely switched and only order Chinese from here. The food is excellent. The prices are super reasonable and the quality and quantity of food are crazy. I would completely endorse this restaurant and urge you to give them a try. Fantastic Chinese cuisine!!!

Called to place an order, with no issues. Food was ready when we arrived about 10 minutes after calling. Ordered a large pork fried rice, a large hot and sour soup, and a large chicken fried rice without soy sauce, and the price was about what you’d expect from any similar location, so no issue there. Overall a solid and pleasant meal, and only slight downside was I prefer a little bit more of a MSG taste with my fried rice.

I usually order the exact same thing from here every time- the chicken wings with fried rice and boneless ribs. Before now the main problem was fatty ribs, which was okay enough to keep ordering. Today though I tried something different and have had a bad enough experience I think this type of food is not going to be appetizing for a while.

We ordered the same chicken wings and fried rice but this time added the sweet and sour pork and the szechuan chicken combo. Thinking I was ordering the lunch combo since it was only 11 am, I thought she said $29 on the phone. When it arrived though, I looked at the receipt (the driver never shows the price before you pay, just gives you the chip reader) it was $39 instead. I apparently was charged dinner combo prices because I didn't specify lunch, even though it's listed on the menu as the exact same meal- I guess I should have added the word "lunch" and saved myself $10. The combos also come with a soup but I specified I didn't want it; she offered me an extra egg roll in place of the soup, which I thought would just REPLACE it- then I found out she charged me for the two extra egg rolls anyway. In addition, the drivers have you select the tip on their cell phone but have lately stopped handing you the phone to privately enter the tip amount, pressuring you out of being able to choose "custom" because they watch you push all the buttons.

As for the food itself I think this was the worst experience we've had. The rice was incredibly dry and much, much saltier than usual. It also for some unusual reason tasted very stale and the chicken wings were room temperature and did not taste fresh, like they usually do. The sweet and sour pork I couldn't even tell what it was- you would imagine a piece of pork with sweet and sour sauce on it but instead what you get is a fried ball of maybe/maybe not pork. The szechuan chicken also I expected to be fried but was apparently very soft, likely frozen and boiled chicken with no sauce and definitely no szechuan flavor. It was so soft at first I thought it was fish. I dont think I have been so disappointed with an order. It seems like you have to order items that are made frequently during the day to ensure it will be fresh, like the boneless ribs. Otherwise, the less common items do not taste freshly made.

We order here at least 2-3 times a month for literally like the last 4 years but after this we'll be finding somewhere else to order. The fact that I wrote this much should explain in itself how bad it was and how...

I've ordered from this place for years, ever since I started at UCF. They easily have the best Chinese food in the UCF area. However, in the last few years their customer service has severely declined and the kids they have working the register, are rude and unhelpful. While the food is still good, the quality isn't what it used to be either and mistakes are more common.

I called in my usual delivery order a couple weeks ago, and when I received the order one of the meals was completely wrong. I called and asked the girl working to send the correct food, she said the driver wouldn't be back for over an hour and that she would give me a credit or a future delivery.

Now fast forward, I tried to place the same order again this evening and Chen, the man taking orders let me know that what is usually a $20 order does not qualify for delivery because the credit does not count towards the delivery total. Naturally I was upset as the credit was meant to compensate me for food that I had already paid for and didn't receive. When I asked to speak to a manager Chen refused and when I pushed him again for a manager he hung up. After calling back and more back and forth Chen finally put the order in for me.

Whoever owns or manages this establishment, I don't know your name because Chen refused to give it to me, additional training is needed for your staff and new standards need to be set in place. I used to never have an issue ordering from here, the food was always ready in about 30-45 mins, the staff was excellent to deal with. I don't know what are why things changed but I'd love to see some better customer service come back.

Update: The restaurant has responded to this review and I wanted to provide further information. Chen did personally deliver my order to me, and while he was still short with me he did arrive within 20 minutes. I did not once hang up on him during our conversations on the phone, he hung up on me and when I called back he answered and stated "Just so you know there's no one else here so you have to deal with me." Furthermore, my order was wrong AGAIN. I let it go until I saw the way the owner responded to my previous comment. After further digging I saw that rather than tactfully responding to other negative reviews, they instead attack the individual providing comments and out right claiming them as lies. We can't all be lying PGC.

I like their food but I will not be ordering from this restaurant anymore. How you respond to problems says a lot about how you run...

Ordered honey chicken, shrimp fried rice and chicken wings tonight. I have ordered previously with this spot and while the food has never been exceptional it was edible. Tonight was a different story. The sauce for the honey chicken had no flavor, it was watery and the chicken seem to of been dated as it was “extra white”. The shrimp had dirt in it, and the wings were burnt and also had areas that exhibited it was old. It was so bad my husband threw up. I called the and spoke with the manager “Jack” who told me I would have to take the food back to them (I paid for delivery) and they would have to examine the food to determine if I would receive my money back. At this point I will never take a chance at this spot, I’m gravely concerned about safety of the food in addition to the awful taste of the food.

Lies!!! Why the pictures speak for itself. I have never, called and made a complain don’t come on this forum to try to bash a customer for exercising free speech! Your food was disgusting and you have the audacity to blaspheme a customer for speaking their truth. You should be shame of your self. And by the way, you could of kept your 20 dollars if you think I have the energy to post a complaint for a half a...
