So my girlfriend and I stopped by here to watch an NFL game after doing some last minute Christmas shopping. There was only one server working. She got to us in a timely manner, though, even though the place had a good amount of people inside. We told her we were here for the long haul of the whole game, ordered our drinks, and browsed the menu.
We opted to split three courses. We started with the Combo Appetizer, "Boom Boom Shrimp, House-Made Tots with beer cheese, Chicken Tenders with BBQ sauce & house-baked pita chips with pimento cheese." To be honest, I'd skip this. The shrimp were unimpressive, the tenders were frozen and just thrown in the fryer, and the pita chips were too floppy to actually be called chips. Go with the Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos instead. We've had these before at another location, and they were good.
For our entree, we went with the Korean BBQ Angus Burger, "Pork Belly, coleslaw, pickle, onion straws on a butter brioche bun." Other than the fact that a greasy burger shouldn't be put on a slick, buttery brioche bun, this was actually pretty good. The umptiousness of the pork belly was a really nice addition to this good blend of a burger patty. I would recommend this.
Finally, for dessert, we got a pretzel that was chopped up, fried, and dusted with cinnamon. This was served with a cup of caramel and a cup of Nutella. We liked this a lot. It was filling, though, we wary. There was an unbelievable amount of Nutella in that cup. I don't know how they profited from this sale. The only thing is that I wish the caramel had been salted, to bring back in notes of pretzel into this dish. Nitpick.
Overall, the food was absolutely three stars. Nothing special about it, but it was nice. The server was a four star server. She was crazy nice and attentive. The atmosphere as a whole was fine. There were a lot of TV's for multiple game viewing, but the clientele was particularly rowdy that day and the staff didn't seem to have any interest in controlling them. Oh well. If I'm ever in Waterford again and want some bar food, I'd probably come back here...
Read moreThe drinks were okay. Two rum and coke which were mixed well and one of the tiki punch which wasn't that great. We ordered the poutine fries which for some reason had a sweet taste to it. It was sickly sweet unfortunately. We also had the steak flatbread and while we were informed of the dish being slightly spicy, the spice consumed the entire dish and that's all you could taste. Our server only came over a total of 4 times (we were sitting at the bar) - once to drop off the menus without saying anything, second to take our orders, third to ask us if we wanted anything else and fourth to bring us our bill. Not once did he ask if our food or drinks were any good, he didn't check on us at all and was not sociable like you expect at a bar. Maybe having an off day? It's a possibility... We left more than half our plates full but finished our drinks. Maybe we ordered the wrong type of food, but we saw others around us not finishing their dishes either which is why we probably won't give it another chance. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the feel of the place. If you're a beer drinker, you'd probably consider this a great place as they have a huge selection of beers on tap. I wouldn't go for the food...
Read moreI come here often, usually midweek midday as I'm in sales it's a good place to stop. They offer a very good rotating beer selection, easy in and out with lots of parking. Bartenders fairly knowledgeable about beers served, service generally friendly and attentive...until today! Server working outer tables was atrocious. Bad energy, acted like it was a chore to be there more than a good tip paying shift on a football Sunday. I sat for @ 10 minutes before I had to ask Bartender for a menu. My wife was shopping in area and stopped by for a drink and to watch game for a minute. She was never acknowledged and left after @ 10 minutes with server never noticing her. I ordered food, wasn't given utensils, again I had to go to bar for service. I 100% will be back as I like your product but service needs to improve, greatly. Your Sunday server is costing you money, business and good will. She needs trained or to find another part time job, service might not be her calling. I asked for check, she didn't bring itemized bill, she verbally told me amount and wanted my card to run before I requested an itimized paper bill which was produced. I dont want to indicate the servers name, I hope they can be trained up and focus on customer satisfaction and...
