Worst Carl's Junior I've been to since I was very young; and that is saying something. Horrible tasting food. I don't think the cook is following the recipes -- for sure. I grew up around the very first Carl's junior....and realize some are different...but this place was gross. Tonight we ordered a southwestern Chicken combo with Zucchini and kids meal. The chicken sandwich didn't even have a green chili on it. The Zucchini was both overcooked, undercooked (cakey), and didn't have their regular spice in the breading. Tasted like cardboard. We took a drive back to get an exchange for the zucchini and tell them about the missing green chili. When I told them through the speaker what we were back for....they didn't say sorry. They just said......do you have the food and the receipt. Then I had to explain we went to the grocery store as our ice cream was melting. Then I told them I would come to the open. Then a young woman came to the window and said she couldn't give us a refund for the sandwich because it was a combo...and there were other items on a combo. I was thinking "hello....only a coke." So, I asked for an exchange for the Zucchini. They asked me to wait out front for it. I never felt treated like a customer. I rarely would come all the way back to give someone feedback...but I felt they might appreciate it. They didn't offer to refund the meal. I brought back the zucchini and had to throw the chicken sandwich away at the grocery store. I had my 3 year old with me. Since he had to go to bed, I just said....whatever, we will see if we can find a new...
Read moreWhen i ordered a meal they asked me “do you want medium or large?” I responded with medium thinking that was what would cost $13.xx as advertised on the menu board. However, when I got to the window I was told that it would be $15.20. I asked him why it cost more and he said that the $13.xx was for a small. I then told him I didn’t realize there was a small because of the way he asked me the question. He proceeded to inform me that this was a relatively new policy from the franchise owner, because they are not supposed to be selling smalls unless somebody asks for it. When I told him that this is deceptive, he proceeded to give me the phone number to the franchise office, because as employees they have already expressed their concern with him and he’s not listening. I called that office and a lady answered claiming that they are not intending to be deceptive, and the only thing we need to do is say no to the question. However, if you’re not trying to be deceptive, what is the problem in asking the question as small medium or large? OR would you like to change that to a medium or large? This is quite literally what every other fast food place does. I don’t know who this lady is but she made it clear that the local office and franchise owner do not care about this issue and if you as a customer are not paying attention, you will continue to be upcharged without your consent. This town is too small for shady business practices, and I hope this owner takes a closer look at how he manages his company and treats...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to the restaurant, I had a mixed experience that left me with conflicting impressions. While the milkshakes and beef burgers were excellent, I was disappointed with the quality of their chicken offerings.
The chicken lacked the desired crispiness, and the batter coating was excessively thick, making it difficult to enjoy. Biting into the chicken became a challenge due to the hardness of the batter. Unfortunately, this aspect of the meal did not meet my expectations.
On a positive note, their milkshakes were truly delightful. The flavors were rich and satisfying, providing a refreshing accompaniment to the meal. Additionally, the beef burgers were delicious, showcasing quality ingredients and well-balanced flavors. If you're not a chicken lover, I would definitely recommend trying their milkshakes and beef burgers.
Despite the disappointment with the chicken, the restaurant's overall ambiance and service were commendable. The staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The establishment's clean and inviting atmosphere contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
In summary, while I cannot recommend the chicken offerings at this restaurant due to the lack of crispiness and the overly thick batter coating, the milkshakes and beef burgers are definitely worth trying. If you're in the mood for a satisfying shake or a delicious beef burger, this place won't disappoint. Just be aware of the chicken's...
