Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Alaska

Long waits, slow service and the staff there don’t know how to run a store. I’ve been there 4 times, the first time I went there they didn’t have any ice cream and that’s what I went there for. The second time they were out of ice cream again so I ordered nothing. The third time they had ice cream but didn’t have any Carmel for the Carmel apple blizzard they were promoting so I asked them to substitute it with fudge then when I got home I noticed there was no fudge. Then tonight I went there and waited in line for 20 minutes then tried to order and they said they weren’t serving any grilled food so at this point I’ve had it with that store!!!! Every time I go there there’s a problem and the way it’s set up you get stuck in line and can’t leave until all the people in front get their orders and leave. If I was the owner of this store I would fire all the staff because they can’t do a simple job and also fire the managers. Then I would sell the store because there’s no way one store can have that much bad luck. Don’t go there to eat because their service is horrible and chances are they won’t have what you wanted! I hope to contact the owner of this store and let them know how bad their staff is! Ps: they took down my review once already but I’ll just keep reposting. I guess I was really upset when I wrote it and didn’t proof read it lol. Anyway read the reviews before going there. All the good ones are posted by employees and friends of employees. Everyone else has had the same...

I used to come here often. Pre-pandemic, the prices were decent, service was friendly-ish, but they always were slow going through drive through cars, if there was 3 or 4 cars in the line ahead of you, you're going to be in the line for 20-30 minutes. Now, it's about 20 minutes just for one car, it seems, even if you're the only one in line. Last time I went there, and I mean last time I will go there, the girl at the drive through basically put in whatever food she wanted on the computer. I wanted two numbered meals w/ drinks, and two items from the 2for$5 deal, not a lot. The price she quoted was off from what I was expecting, so I repeated what I wanted and she said "Yeah, that's what I had", and then she said different price than the first price, which also didn't add up to expected price. I go to the window, and ask her to repeat my order... she says, "It's what you said." I'm just hungry, the line is building up, so I pay. The only things correct in the entire order were the flavor of my two drinks; out of two numbered meals w/ no special instructions, and two extra 2for$5 things. I didn't get the meals I wanted, or the correct 2for$5 items... This place...

I hate even giving this 1-Star Review- I wish it could be 0. We stopped by the Dairy Queen on Abbott Rd in Anchorage on March 10th around 1:45 PM 2025 for a simple vanilla cone. The drive-thru wasn’t busy at all, but when we pulled up, the employee mumbled something we couldn’t understand. So we drove up to the first window, we were greeted by a man wearing yellow-tinted glasses with a noticeable amount of white powder under his nostrils. Like no shame in his game. His slurred speech and demeanor made it seem like he was under the influence. When we asked about ice cream, he vaguely said something about the place being "freezing" and "frozen," and then stated there was no ice cream. He just stood there awkwardly smiling. It was by far the weirdest interaction we've ever had at a restaurant. We drove off without ordering, because he said there was no ice cream. Completely unprofessional and concerning.

Would not recommend going to this Dairy Queen, and I would hope that management is aware of who their employees are and what they are doing. This place needs to be audited and have a health inspection ASAP. It does not seem...
