Lots of social media hype about this place so we added it to our list of places to try. Menu prices are $5-15 more than other places selling similar food I was thinking it was going to be more of a Thai place based on the name and pictures I've seen, but it's mostly sushi 🍣 and sashimi. They do offer "dinner specials" for $25 which was good. The miso, wonton and hot and sour soups they served with the specials were probably the best tasting part of the meals. Served in delightful bowls that kept the soup warm for a while. That's important because no one likes cold soup. Very flavorful so I had high hopes for the rest of the meal. In the very beginning the staff was extremely attentive and checked on us 3 times in the first couple minutes of getting our food. After that the waitress disappeared. (Turns out she left 🤷🏻♀️) The Sapporo on tap was light and a perfect drinking beer 🍻 $8 a glass, so a little on the steeper end for tap beers. I chose the Panang Curry with California Roll special. The California roll was 4 bite sized pieces and I thought they were good. But very small. The curry was marked as "spicy" 🔥 on the menu but it was not at all spicy. They did not ask about spice level when we ordered. The curry sauce was creamy and sweet. Loaded with chicken that was very very tender. It wasn't until I was about 1/2 though that I realized there was zero vegetables in the curry. Traditionally Panang Curry is served with veggies and that's honestly my favorite part. Word around the table was that the food was good but definitely didn't blow anyone away. We walked away feeling like the prices did not reflect the quality of food. And we will likely not return. The young man that was working that evening was very patient when taking our money. He had to sort out all our orders after our original waitress left for the night leaving a confusing mess. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food arrived crazy fast. It was surprisingly slow for 7pm dinner and we were there nearly 2 hours and only saw a few other tables being sat the whole time we were there. It would be a cozy little place for...
Read moreUpon arriving at this restaurant with our fully trained service dog, we were shocked and humiliated by the treatment we received. The host immediately told us that dogs were not allowed, despite our clear and calm explanation that she is a service animal protected by law. Her response? “My boss said no dogs.”
I respectfully asked her to call her manager to clarify. She told us to wait while she called. The experience was deeply uncomfortable, as other patrons watched us stand there as though we were doing something wrong.
After a while, she returned saying it was a “misunderstanding” and that we could be seated, but only at a corner table. This is unacceptable. I informed her that under federal and Alaska state law, service dogs must be treated as an extension of the person with a disability, and cannot be restricted to different seating or treated as a burden.
When I calmly explained this, the host became defensive and claimed we were interrupting her and that she never implied we had to sit in a different area — which is simply not true. Her attitude was dismissive and unprofessional throughout.

📜 Legal Note (for the business to be aware): • Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are allowed in all public areas, including restaurants. Businesses may not deny access, segregate, or treat individuals with service dogs differently. • Alaska State Law (AS 11.76.130) also upholds these rights and considers it a misdemeanor to deny access to individuals accompanied by service animals. • The law does not require special documentation and only permits two questions: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?

This was a moment that should’ve been handled with respect and dignity, not suspicion and discomfort. Businesses need to train their staff properly on disability rights and customer service. We will not be returning, and we hope this is used as an opportunity for...
Read moreI remember how excited my son and I were when LimeLeaf chose to open a location in Eagle River and it has become our absolute favorite restaurant. The ambiance is cordial and inviting, and the décor is aesthetically pleasing. The menu choices are simply spectacular and the dinner specials are extraordinary. Our intent is to try all of the specials since those we have tried were divinely delicious, and the portions are incredibly generous; especially considering the affordable price you pay for each dish. The appetizers are also tasty and the calamari is exquisite and the best we have ever eaten.
Besides appreciating the heavenly cuisine, I also appreciate the excellent customer service. The host/servers are friendly and congenial, and they no doubt follow the example set forth for them by Gino Kuang. I have had the pleasure of communicating with Mr. Kuang and he is an exceptional owner/manager, who genuinely cares about providing outstanding customer service, and ensuring his staff does, as well. It is evident he wants his customers to have an enjoyable dining experience, which I appreciate immensely, and he has truly succeeded.
I highly and unequivocally recommend LimeLeaf for their lovely atmosphere, their excellent customer service and their decadently delectable cuisine. Thank you, Mr. Kuang, to you and your family for opening LimeLeaf in Eagle River, and bringing some of the hometown flavors I grew up on and am still able to enjoy at your fabulous restaurant. You all are simply the best and we look forward to...
