Long Branch Saloon — Restaurant in Alaska

First time back in ages! That place never changes...and that's a good thing! (from an outsiders perspective anyhow)

I fell right back into my old bookmark like an old book that you put down decade ago.

A mix of salty workers, drawn in by 🥓 🍻 and the best 🥪 in town! (that's buns as they don't have the correct emoji...it's from an old commercial) and biker friendly business men (and women) cohabitate in deliberately darkened bistro tables. Easy to move around yet just close enough to evesdrop on your newly accounted neighbors a few feet away, it's a great way to meet new down to earth folks who genuinely seem to appreciate the forced proximity polished patronage as necessary vs necessity.

Stopped in for a late dinner with a new associate and did not regret. A bacon burger was just what we ordered (doctors might not recommend it but they probably order it!) Along with two imports... And after a long week of schlepping my associates ten years of stuff (the normal amount, he's not a hoarder fyi) it was just the right combination paired with the charm of our doe eyed waitress, enough so that we went back again the next night!

If you're teetering on whether to try em out.. just go when you're hungry for moderate level of low risk indulgence or when you feel up to rubbing elbows with libatious locals.

We stopped by for my friends beer and LA froie shot. Im on the hunt for the best Calamari. Throughout my trip I encountered breaded and dough like calamari steak strips. I've yet to come across calamari that makes me moan for whats after life! Over my experience here was full of jokes, laughing, and good times with the help of Ms. Kim the owner. She and her servers were running in and out cleaning tables, taking orders, prebussing, engaging the guests, acknowledging incoming from the parking lot. The store is closed but they have outside seating. At one point it was full a single guest joined us at our table with our, "OF COURSE! SIT! JOIN US"! Everyone treats everyone with respect and consideration. I promise your trip to Alaska will be absolutely great if you like clean weather, blue of the bluest skies, and great people.
