I have been here before many times and it was a pleasant experience. Although this time was not. I decided to take my friend for the first time. We arrived and waited to be seated. We requested to sit at the sushi bar. We arrived at 9pm and I noticed that they close at 10pm. From the moment that we were seated we were rushed ridiculously by the sushi chef. He kept asking us for our order and we told him that we were not ready yet. A few moments go by and he asks again, so we made a rushed decision on the 4 rolls that we ordered. We received a salad to start with. The salad was great. We really enjoyed the flavors of the dressing. We got our sushi rolls and weren't too impressed. First off the rice was very soggy, all of the rolls were drenched in a miracle whip flavored sauce (mayo?) along with too much unagi sauce. It was not appetizing. The rolls were also cut so big that it made it hard to eat without choking on the soggy rice. Overall the salad was the highlight of the meal. We were out of there in 30 min. As a paying customer, I was very disappointed and embarrassed that I brought my friend here to experience such a let down. You DO NOT rush your customers, no matter what time it is. If it is getting too late and close to the closing time, then stop seating people at a certain time. We felt BULLIED to HURRY UP and get out.  Maybe the chef was having a bad day or something but it is still unacceptable. I used to like this place, but I have no reason to return if I'm going to be rushed and the food is...
Read moreMy family and I went here tonight and our experience was truly awful. When it came time to pay, our bill was $203, which was expected. My whole family gave me cash which I counted twice before placing it on the tray. I then placed my credit card on the tray with the cash to cover the remaining amount. The total amount of cash was $140 which should have left a balance of $63 on my card. An older woman who was not our waitress picked up the tray and brought it up to the front. When she returned my credit card slip said it was charged for $103. I immediately grabbed my waitress and explained how much cash we gave them and she brought over an older gentleman who said he was the owner. He argued with us that he doesn't lie, and that we only have him $100. This was obviously frustrating because there were 3 people at our table that gave me cash and we know exactly how much they gave me (it was all in 20's). They obviously made a mistake and should have handled it, and if they had, I would likely return to this establishment. However, there are far better sushi places in town with great customer service that my family and I will go to from now on, I will not only not recommend this restaurant to anybody, but I will also tell everyone I can about their horrible customer service and their inability...
Read moreCareful if you have allergies to cod. Order Californian roll for my wife. The menu never states that there is imitation crab in the roll. If you aren't aware imitation crab is not crab at all. Imitation crab is made from cod. My son is severely allergic to crab. My son had never tried sushi before. My wife and I not knowing that there was imitation crab in the roll let our son have some. Minutes after his throat started to swell shut. When we asked the waitress about the roll, she nonchalantly said that there was imitation crab like we should have known. Because we didn't have a epi pen with us we got up in the middle of the meal in a rush to get in the car and get home to our epi pen. The Korean gentleman, who I take was the owner insisted that I pay before I leave. He acted like it wasn't a big deal and took his time processing or bill. When I mentioned that his restaurant poisoned our son he acted as if it was my fault for not knowing that there was imitation crab in the roll. Just in case you are wondering Ichiban on Tudor road does not use imitation crab. There crab is real. There menu also states where items do have potential allergies. Back to Haru. I feel we should not have had to pay the bill at the very least. We also never received an apology, only them telling us we...
