MISO Japanese sushi & bar — Restaurant in Alaska

Hands down the best sushi place in town. I came from southern california and my standard for sushi is high. Their sushi is more of authentic style, with fresh fish and deeper flavor. So if you are expecting fusion style sushi roll with lots of rice, you may not like this place. However, if you want fresh sushi, sashimi or rolls with less rice, this is your go-to place! One of my favorite dish is salmon skin salad. Everything else is really good. I go here at least once a week once I found out about this place. Their spicy seafood noodle soup (jjam bbong) is the best one in town as well. I tried their chisashi bowl, different types of nigiri and sushi rolls, garlic edamame, etc and can't wait to try other dishes. Also, check out their sake selection. I tried their fruit sake (Fuji apple is my favorite) and premium sake "Junmai daijinjo" and these are hands down the best sake I've tried so far and price is fair as well. Fruit sake is more for women, and I enjoyed it very well as a woman. Overall, I like their interiors, fresh foods and drink selection. Friendly and efficient servers are plus! Me and my partner love this place, it's always been a great time with great food. The only issues we've ever encountered is sometimes it takes a minute to get your food once you've ordered, even if it's not busy. That being said, I don't think it's a big deal and there are so many positive things to say about this restaurant. The prices are great as well, it seems like we always get tons of food and the price is usually between 35-55$. Tonight when we went in, our waitress was very nice, very attentive and helpful. I noticed as people came in one of the waitresses let a customer know how beautiful she looked (she was dressed up because it's new years and did look amazing!) But I just thought that it was very kind of her. The music they play is fantastic, which I don't think I've ever said about a restaurant before. Even when i have ordered for take out, its been great. They take care to ensure your food will be just as good when you eat it, as it was when it was made. All in all, I've enjoyed every meal I've had so far and will continue to do so! 10/10...

My family and I are come here frequently because the sushi is the best in town in our opinion and it’s close to our house however, our waitress yesterday treated my daughter and I poorly. The one wearing glasses. It took her a long time to get to us which was fine but when she did she was very short, and unfriendly. I had to ask to get the miso soup which I’ve never have to do. Once we had finished our meal and were left sitting there while she what felt like purposely ignored our table (very bizarre) until the other sweet waitress with the long braids (which has always treated us kindly and is an excellent server) asked if we were okay or needed anymore water as she noticed we were just sitting there waiting. Mind you the whole time our server was just chatting about saving up to buy a house with the costumers sitting behind us for a very long time. We come there several times and week but yesterday the service was awful and felt unwelcoming. If we go back there I will asked not to be sat in...
