I ate here for the first time ever almost about a year ago on a whim. I ordered the pad thai and asked for level 7 spicy. (I love spicy!) The pad Thai blew my socks off. It was so flavorful and spicy. It was the best pad Thai I had ever had. I came back a week later and it was just as good! I was so impressed and kept raving to my boyfriend how good it was that roughly a month after my second visit, we went back so he could try their food. It was a slow Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered the same dish, spicy pad Thai, and my bf ordered the chicken pho. Much to my disappointment the pad Thai lacked the delicious flavor of my two previous trips that enticed my taste buds. My bf's pho dish was even more disappointing then my pad Thai. Normally Pho broth is clearish and full of flavor. His broth had a darkish murky look kind of like canned chicken stock and tasted exactly like it! I thought he was joking around until I tried it myself. Fast forward - It had been a year since our last visit and just the other day I was craving pad Thai and thought I'd give them a second chance. Nope, this pad Thai was as worse as my previous experience. No flavor at all and no spiciness to it even though I ordered spicy level 7. It was very bland. My bf ordered the beef garlic stir fry and said his dish also lacked flavor. He mixed in some chili garlic sauce and only then did it add flavor. Family owned business. I have only tried the chicken fried rice (like 10 times) cause it's so good and also a HUGE PORTION. They make it fresh from scratch and you can order it anyway that suits you. I'm not a very adventurous eater however the owner's son in law/delivery driver highly recommend broccoli garlic chicken. That's amazing too. I usually order delivery but last week I wanted to stop in on my way home and grab take out..plus I just wanted to see where my food was coming from. Super nice owner's very kind and took time to meet me and talk for a bit while my food was being prepared. Infact it was ready so quickly I wasn't even done visiting. Lol

I have also ordered the tempura vegetables. I think that is a dish best served immediately rather than in a foam to go box with a side of condensation. It still tasted wonderful, just not as good as if you had it right out of the fryer. To their credit, it was my fault for making a poor choice.

Now I'm craving their fried rice again just from talking about it.

Anyway this place gets 5/5 ⭐ for price, quality and customer...

Getting better and better. We ordered a couple times when their name was Thai Town. The food was okay then, but I’m way more impressed with their food now...under the name Royal Thai. We haven’t been here to eat and have only ordered delivery. The woman who answers the phone is kind and efficient. The delivery people are always friendly and fast. I feel the prices are fair and a $5 delivery charge isn’t bad. Everyone has different food preferences…but some of our favorite Thai places are Siam Cuisine and Thai Orchid. These guys are definitely close to if not on par with those restaurants. ALSO - one is hard pressed to find a Thai restaurant in Anchorage that is open on Sunday AND delivers. Guess what,...
