I am a previous employer of Village Inn restaurant in Anchorage Alaska 1130 E Northern Lights Blvd. I am 17 years old and was busser while working there. It was a bad environment to be at. They have cockroaches all over crawling around. They are very unsanitary and don’t require employers to wash hands. They choose to treat their employees unfairly and have favoritism there towards certain workers. Some of the male managers are inappropriate towards the female employees as are the workers. And many employees there like to talk bad about other employees and are not very nice to certain people. I think it is not a good work environment and although the food is good it is very unsanitary. I was a good worker at Village Inn I always did my job right and on time as well as helping the other coworkers with their jobs with free time. I was treated poorly. I made excellent tips and customers loved me because I would always help around. I was on leave for 2 weeks because I had to quarantine . When I came back they had already hired a new busser and they cut my hours too short and over worked me. Legally by having covid I had to be out of work until quarantine was over which I got replaced. A few weeks later they kept cutting my hours shorter and shorter until eventually I wasn’t on the schedule. I came in and asked the manager and he had said I was a slow worker and didn’t smile enough and made up lies and accusations to fire me because he did not want to pay me. Matter of fact I was faster then the new busser they had hired, I worked harder, made more tips and more customers happy which all was not true. I could have argued my case to the owner but instead I let myself think that this was not okay and that I will never work for Village Inn again. Now I’m seeing all these adds that they are looking for workers and I just think they lost the best worker they had by giving up on me and I am not sorry for them. I don’t know about every Village Inn but this Village Inn is not the place to...
Read moreFood was zero stars. I came here frequently last spring and the food was wonderful at that time. I always order the chicken fried steak smothered in gravy. Unfortunately when I went here yesterday I had a very bad experience with the food. I ordered lemon water and by the time the cup came I was very thirsty, but the cup was dirty and the lemon wedge was small and stale looking. I could not drink something that tasted so gross like it was not fully rinsed after the wash. Then my hashbrowns were literally frozen still when they came. It was disgusting. Also there was a hair in the gravy of my chicken fried steak and needed to be sent back. And then when I got the new plate the gravy was cold.... 😢 I couldn't stomach it. At all... I ordered a slice of pie when I left and it was half the size of my phone screen. Very small not worth 5 dollars.... bye bye money. I will never return here. Was my food this terrible because I asked to clean the baby changing station and they wouldn't allow it due to health code reasons. Did I bother the chef? This establishment is going down hill and it's already there. I will never come back. I will cook at home and remeber how my food tasted at this restaurant and it's everywhere in Anchorage it's because of poor management. Didn't get silverware untill after food was brought when I asked 3 times... And I ordered my children French fries, how disgusting was it that there was peices of breakfast potato's mixed in as if it was swept off the floor and mixed togeather. 😢 this experience will make me lose my appetite for eating out in this...
Read moreOver priced, the ladies bathroom was absolutely dirty. My eggs over easy unfortunately were scorched on the outer edge making the edges and bottom hard and crunchy, and the flavor tasted like dish soap. The sasuage patties we're under cooked but just barely done. The restaurant was very understaffed, we waited at the wait to be seated podium for 8 minutes, there were at least four couple's behind us who also had extended wait time. Food delivery was very slow, for simple meals, which gave us so hope of a quality meal. See above for those results.
Our waitress was very polite, but I did have to dump food particles from my chair, and the table I was able to clean several discoloration off with just a napkin.
Silverware, and straws were brought late, as we could not see our waitress went to the next table to aquire, sugar, and catsup.
Refill on tea we're prompt, and my friends egg olmet was very well done.
They do not offer a senior meal not offer 1/2 orders on even biscuits and gravy.
I find it interesting that a Denny's just a few blocks away closed, and yet this establishment is still open, but I doubt for long unless quality and customer service becomes Job 1. As well as keeping the bathroom clean, and the ladies was the worst of the two.
I find it interesting that over the years I have many times visited the bathroom first and left just because of dirty bathrooms, I did not do this and I feel it was mistake. I don't think I'm going back for...
